Pros:

Great boutique hotel. Clean and comfy. Staff was great. Room was quite spacious for Brooklyn and the balcony was also nice and large.

Cons:

Late checkout is a pretty big charge. $75 for one extra hour is crazy.

We stayed in two different rooms. The first stay we were disturbed throughout the night by loud street noises,

We were less comfortable sleeping due to the mattresses and pillows provided in the roof top suit.

Coffee and Breakfast are made available at 8;00. When traveling it is a bit late to wait until 8:00 for coffee. 7:30 would seem more convenient.

Pros:

I've stayed at Henry Norman Hotel on numerous occasions and always loved going back. Everything is very clean (shoutout to amazing housekeeping staff), and I love how unique each room is. The area is also easily accessible to great food.

Cons:

I had emailed the hotel requesting late check out as it was my birthday so I wanted some time to just rest after a night out. In my email I mentioned I had visited multiple times and always loved my stay. I received a call soon after to confirm the time I wanted to checkout and the cost. I accepted, but really was hoping there would be a courtesy late checkout without the fee as I was a returning customer and was staying for my birthday. Upon arrival (day of my birthday) I noticed the checkin was located in a different location which was fine. But there was no acknowledgement or Happy Birthday, even as I showed my ID. As someone who worked in customer service for an airline for many years, I know it can be a really tough job. Customers can be rude, the hours can seem endless. But what I learned was that even the little things count in making sure someone's experience is pleasant.
I didn't have that while checking in with my partner. It was a cold exchange. When we asked for quick food delivery reccs as we had a show to catch, there was a brief pause from the person checking us in, so we looked at the other employee for advice. They simply said that the most recent delivery to a guest at the hotel seemed good. And that was it.

The penthouse was not worth the price at all. During our last stay we were in the loft which felt so much more cozier, spacious, and romantic. Having the bed so close to the door felt like a basic room. Also it would be dope if the hotel upgraded with an option for King sized beds.

I'm sad to say I won't be booking another stay at Henry Norman based off of this most recent experience.
