Classic old hotel with good history and great facilities.
Beautiful hotel, had a corner suite with an attached living room, very spacious. AC worked great and the showers were amazing. Room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Gave us a free breakfast voucher for the restaurant down stairs and the food was excellent.
Breakfast was very fulfilling and lots of choice. Fresh cooked bacon and eggs. Lots of fresh fruit and yogurt tea coffee and fresh orange. Table service was excellent
Nothing to add
There was a watermaine break and they allowed us to believe we could check in later in the day and there was no water at 1000 pm at night with no phone call from them after my daughter’s wedding … really got screwed not happy !

I needed to visit Syracuse for business and stayed at this Marriott. Since my business in town involved meetings, I also reserved a conference room on the 10th floor.
The staff here was very helpful, accommodating, and easy to work with when booking the conference room. They were equally helpful when I arrived and needed access. The room had a TV in it as well as a large table and it was comfortable for the all day meeting we had.
Regarding my staff, checking in was great. The folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. They have an M Club here, which I visited a couple of times. I wanted bottled water, which they don’t have in the M Club, rather you need to get it from the front desk. They use water refilling stations in the M Club, which I hate when staying in a hotel, I’d rather have the bottled water in the fridge in my room, so I’m glad they were able to accommodate me on this. The guy working the M Club both times I visited (in the evenings) was great, friendly too!
The hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL! Honestly, I stay in hotels weekly and I’m pretty much done with the typical design of the average Marriott and this one breaks that mold! It’s historic, beautifully renovated, perfectly operational, and centrally located. My room was very nice! They upgraded me to a suite and when they told me this during check in, I wasn’t too impressed, as I hear that I’m “upgraded” all the time, but when I get to the room, they look typical. This room was HUGE! It had a living room, two king size bedrooms, and two full baths in it. The living room had a nice desk and plenty of seating for a family. There were also 3 TVs in this room. Bathrooms in the rooms were beautifully renovated to have a period look and they worked nicely. Housekeeping even did a nice job keeping everything polished in this room.
Overall, I really enjoyed this stay. I’d most definitely return here in the future!
I want to start by saying that the hotel options in Syracuse seem pretty limited. Based on word of mouth, I was told this was the best place to stay when visiting. And i will stay here again after seeing what you else is around.
I slept well, so no complaints there, but if this is truly the best option in the area, Syracuse could definitely use some better hotel choices. The staff was very nice, but the property felt like a hotel that was probably impressive years ago and hasn’t kept up since. The lobby is huge but strangely sparse, with very little furniture, which made it feel oddly empty. Even the Marriott sign out front isn’t centered, which somehow felt symbolic. And the elevator honestly felt haunted — not even joking.
At the end of the day, I got a good night’s sleep, but overall it felt like an old, average hotel. The surrounding area also seemed pretty run-down, with storefronts for lease and a noticeable homeless population nearby. Maybe that’s just downtown Syracuse — this was my first time visiting the area.
My 29 week pregnant wife and I were traveling for work at this location and while I was showering a bat came down from the ceiling. I’m still not sure how it got in as all the windows were closed but nevertheless was a very unpleasant experience. This seems to have happened before according to the people who came and got it out. I recognize this is out of the control of employees at this location but I do believe this an important aspect to consider if you are choosing to travel here with children or in my case a pregnant wife and our dog.
Our room was large so was also the bathroom. Shower old fashioned, fixed to the wall. The towels were changed every day, what a waste! Bes was good.
All our group hated how cold all the hotel was, sitting in the meetings coat on is not normal! In the room it was possible to get normal temp but nowhere else.
Didn’t eat the breakfast but room service was fantastic.
Was a little loud in the hallway when we were trying to go to sleep.
