Had liever een queensize bed gehad en meer kamer-ruimte als individuele reiziger
The hotel was fine. It's a beautiful period building, so the lobby and communal areas are impressive, but as a result, the rooms are quite old-fashioned. That said, it was comfortable enough and perfectly adequate for a two night business stay. Location was great for downtown Syracuse.
The breakfast was pretty awful, especially considering it's not bundled in. I skipped it on day two.
The pillows are way too soft. The bed had too much paraphernalia on it -blankets, cushions. Makes getting into bed a right faff!
Like all hotels, it needs more lights.
Absoutley gorgeous!
Could use some updates in the bathroom
Absolutely the worst experience at a hotel ever. First, I am on a walker from knee replacement surgery There is no handicap entrance to get in. The room had a bed that was waist high and impossible to get in and out of comfortably There was no chair to sit on it to put on shoes or socks. The Marriot shuttle that took us to dinner was so high to step into that a six foot man had trouble getting in. No step stool was provided. The noise from the next room woke me in the middle of the night. After a rough night the coffee maker didn’t work. And I’ve got two more nights!!
Loved the 1920s charm-was not expecting that. Close to attractions.
There was some leftover food in mini fridge.
Beautiful hotel. Great on site Irish Pub. Large room as nd bathroom on the 12th floor.
We didn't turn down the bed until 9:30 pm and discovered the sheet were not clean with hair and black fuzzies covering one side of the bed. Still waiting 40 minutes later for new sheets. Disappointing.
Although we had a nice check-in experience with Joel, everything went downhill after check-in.
The property has an old historic feel, some would enjoy that. I booked a larger 2 queen and the room was spacious, though the bathroom was narrow. The room appeared relatively clean.
We were inconvenienced by maintenance issues during our stay. When I attempted to open the glass sliding shower door, the handle became dislodged at the top end, and remained hanging down (and inconvenient) throughout the remainder of our stay. Also, the toilet tissue spindle dislodged itself every single time we used it, highly inconvenient.
I mentioned both of these issues twice to front desk staff. The first time was via phone, but because they were busy fixing a larger building-wide issue, they seemed distracted and uncaring about my small maintenance issues.
The big issue was that the thermostat in the entire building was not working. The temperature was in the 20s, and I reported, shortly after check-in, that our heater was not heating our room. They sent someone from maintenance, who fiddled around inside, and declared it "fixed."
We left for dinner, and returned to a chilly room and thermostat still not working. We were then informed that the entire property was affected, and there was no estimated time that functionality would be restored. They finally got it working very late that evening, but it made for an uncomfortable evening.
We decided to check out early, after our first evening. They were nice about allowing us to do so.
Upon checkout, a staff member asked "How was your stay?" To which I replied, "We had a lot of issues." She said, "Sorry to hear that" but she did not inquire any further about the nature of the issues,
For me, there was just not an acceptable level of service at this property. I selected it because of convenient location, but I think I would choose a different place to stay next time.
