Lunch and Dinner were enjoyable, tasty, good value. My companion said she would like to eat there again. Despite a crowd in the area downstairs the bedroom was quiet, which is not often the case in pub accommodation. The views from the bedroom window were inspiring.
Others have noted that the bedroom furniture is a bit ad-hoc and aged. With only one chair, the bed in the room I had is quite high, so two short people sharing would struggle to sit down. If working it would be useful to have a clear uncluttered desk or table at an appropriate height. When the area downstairs was packed with people using the free guest wifi it ceased operating in the bedrooms... a dedicated wifi address for hotel guests would be a real benefit since 4G does not work effectively either (I tried two different ISPs).
Great location of authentic inn, just next door to Montacute House (amazing) in picturesque village, nestled in some beautiful if hilly countryside …
Great food and brilliant staff who bent over backwards to make it a good stay and were really relaxed when our family descended on the pub!

The rooms are a little shabby but perfectly comfortable
Breakfast was good. Dinner was very good.
Shower was slow to heat, and low pressure.
There was a problem of water tank noise in room 2 but they moved us to another room without a problem. Breakfast and evening meals were good. The staff were friendly and helpful
No wardrobes in both rooms 2 or 5 and just hooks on the wall and a couple of coat hangers. Bathroom light switch worked intermittently.

Mattress was awful and very uncomfortable so didn’t get a good sleep.
Friendly staff , good food , good beer and a nice beer garden in a quiet village . Really nice place to stay .
Only thing i didnt like was the bed was so uncomfortable . Creaked alot and mattress was really springy in back .
