We loved our stay at the Silver Moon Inn. It is a well-kept property in a beautiful setting.
The staff were a highlight. Everyone was warm, welcoming and accommodating. We extended our stay several times, which meant changing rooms because of our last-minute additions, and they made each move easy.
The location was ideal for Rocky Mountain National Park. We went into the park multiple times each day, often early in the morning and again around sunset for wildlife viewing. Downtown Estes Park is also an easy walk.
Fall River runs along the property, with Adirondack chairs, fire pits and lovely landscaping. We especially enjoyed sitting by the river and making s’mores in the evenings.
We stayed in both riverside and non-riverside rooms and preferred the riverside rooms. They seemed newer, had a better layout and felt brighter. The non-riverside rooms felt dark by comparison. I would choose riverside if available.
The rooms are fairly simple, but everything was clean and well maintained. Between the setting, staff and easy access to RMNP, Silver Moon Inn was exactly what we wanted. We would happily stay again.
We have been going to the Silver Moon Inn for at least 10 years. It is our favorite rustic hotel to stay in Estes Park, Colorado. The people are all very accommodating and friendly and you cannot beat the surrounding beauty of the hotel. My favorite part is the creek going through the property. We also love doing s’mores every night in the fire pits.
A great find! Excellent location right near downtown shopping. You don’t need to pay for parking to go shop since you can walk from the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Beautiful river runs right on the property. Herd of elk passed by each day we were there. Fire pits. Games. Everything you could ask for. Quiet at night. Comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
There’s a reason that I come back here year after year. I love the peacefulness. I love the river and I love the location - conveniently located to the park and to the shops.
BEST location! BEST views! BEST staff! Do not go looking for another place to stay. This one is IT! I love that it was right at the end of the shopping so traffic was minimal. Yet you can walk to shops easily. Or catch the tram in summer like we did for the beginning. Also has great places to sit and chill in the mornings, day or evening after whatever you've planned for the day. Tight on the river. Absolutely loved that I could go out my door and take a wonderful walk every morning and evening with our dog that we brought. There is access from the Inn to the performance park next to it. So handy. I enjoyed the continental breakfast. Great places to go if you want a full breakfast but really, this was great then we could have a lunch without it being a lit of food. It was light, the eggs were tasty and the coffee was great. [Tip: add a bit of hot chocolate to make it a mocha taste :)]
Hotel room is what you expect from the photos. It was clean, no odd smell at all. Had enough space to put all our things. We didn't go to Estes Park to stay in the room all day. Best stay!

We loved everything!
Location is perfect. It's at the end of Main street. Walking distance to shops, restaurants. Free shuttle also stops the corner. We've stayed here a few time before due to the location plus with the river running in front of the building, it's a nice area to hang out. They have redone the front area with more sitting, fire pits and love seats in front of the river to relax and hang out with friends and family.
Our room was on 1st floor and didn't like it at all. We requested a 3rd floor room but apparently they didn't have any available. My guess is if you didn't reserve directly from Silver Moon, you are probably assigned to the lower floors. Guests on 2nd floor have heavy feet and there were kids as well so we could hear every thump and step. So annoying! We informed the front desk but their response was they will let the guests know but they can't do anything further as it was not within the quiet times. Obviously, floors are not well sound proofed. Additionally, being on the 1st floor, no privacy since the door entrance are glass with curtains. Can't open curtains to let light in. Fire pit was also in front of the door. Not happy with the 1st floor room at all! We've stayed here 3X before and as long as you're on the 3rd floor or their suite rooms on the 2nd floor in the smaller building, it's fine.
Breakfast was nice and about what i was expecting without a full kitchen facility.
Not enough outlets or modern USB ports to charge devices or use our own electronics.
Clean rooms, excellent service, great atmosphere with the river passing through the hotel.
Provided toiletries could be better. No shower gel, only bar soap.

I didn't read the fine print when I booked. We ended up on 3rd floor. They tried to move us not able. I think the lack of an elevator should be in capital letters when booking.

This is a cozy unique place with a great setting on the River with fire places that come on each evening to enjoy the fantastic lounge chairs along the River. Excellent service, ok breakfast more like a continental style, no hot food. Our room wasn’t fancy it was very basic however extremely clean and it had a cabin feel, bathroom wasn’t fancy, it was small but the bathroom linens were very nice up scale. This hotel is very clean and got a fantastic location for walking into town. Will return!
Silver Moon Inn is a great location for walking to downtown Estes Park. It's also on the side of town closest to RMNP. They have fire pits at night which are great for making s'mores, ingredients provided by the hotel .Also there is a small park across the street with a rushing river, which also runs through the hotel property . Beautiful spot!
Friendly staff, accommodating breakfast, nightly s’mores and seating near the river is very inviting and peaceful. Hot tub is perfect temp, just wished it opened earlier. Love walking distance to downtown.
