Just Albert park
I stayed at Sora East Melbourne (Comfort Hotel, 90 Albert Street, East Melbourne) for over a month as a long-term guest and spent thousands of dollars. Things were okay at the start, but everything collapsed once the manager left for his wedding and left a particular staff member in charge.
Key problems:
• My room was never cleaned despite multiple extensions. Simple cleaning requests were dismissed with eye-rolling and “not today.”
• After my bank was hacked twice (making one payment a few hours late), this staff member publicly confronted and embarrassed me in front of other guests.
The worst issue was hygiene. I was bitten four times by bugs while sleeping — three times on my head and once on my wrist. The wrist bite became badly infected, swollen, and painful. I reported it and was promised the pillows would be replaced, but they never were. The pillows were visibly filthy. I was eventually handed just one pillow in the corridor very dismissively.
On top of this, the same staff member called the police on me, falsely accusing me of being aggressive towards staff. This was completely untrue and added enormous stress.
As a clean, respectful, low-maintenance guest and established tattoo artist in Melbourne, I was treated very poorly. This experience harmed my physical health (infected bites) and mental wellbeing.
I strongly advise against staying here. The poor hygiene, bug problem, and unprofessional escalation make it a health and stress risk. There are much better options in Melbourne
The park was the only good thing here

Good value
How close to Rod Laver arena it was
The stairs were a nightmare to navigate with luggage
Clean, location, great shower., easy key access.
Food left in fridge.
Lift not working, so with crutches and luggage made it very difficult, no communication to advise.
I was visiting family so really only slept there
First night other people were noisy arriving home late. Maybe need more soundproff doors
Easy check-in, clean and discuss room with all amenities
