A lovely stay
Pros:

A lovely hotel in the middle of the high street. A friendly welcome, all the staff were lovely, extremely pleasant and helpful. A good atmosphere in the bar and excellent food. Clean and comfortable room. A great start to our adventure in the Borders.

Nothing, everything was great.

Okay stay just disappointed about paying £90 for a bed with bugs in it
Pros:

The pub is very nice and the staff are lovely, we checked out at 11 which was a perfect time for us.

Cons:

We found some bugs in our bed (photos of bugs were taken) and I have been left with a couple of bits witch was a bit disappointing as I payed £90 for the room.

Pros:

The restaurant's food is very good all staff are very nice and friendly. The room are very clean and tidied up daily.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the door and walls in the room are not soundproof, so I can hear all noises from outside. I was in room 6, and when guests in room 5 open the door and walk in, the sound was loud enough to wake me.

Suite was clean and staff were great. Lounge area of suite needs updating
Pros:

Great food in the hotel
Very good shower
Good selection of tea and coffee
Good tv in bedroom.
Very central location. Close to bus stop
Great Staff.

Cons:

We Had a suite, chairs in lounge area became very uncomfortable after you had sat on them more than 15 mins. Proper armchairs defo required.
Tv in lounge dated. Remote didn’t give you the TV guide.
Lounge area could do with updated decor.

Clean, comfortable and helpful staff
Pros:

Central location, pleasant comfortable room, bike storage provided.

Cons:

I thought the breakfast was a bit mean. I ordered eggs and avocado on toast. Literally one small piece of toast. No fruit, yoghurt, cereal wtc even though I opted for breakfast included.
Dinner was really delicious though, so the breakfast wouldn’t put me off going back.

Pros:

Staff were really friendly and helpful

Cons:

Restaurant toilets very tired and carpets throughout very dirty and someone smoking in courtyard in their dressing gown was off putting. Sofa in room needs a deep clean and our garden area needs a weed and outdoor furniture cleaned, would make a big difference

Very basic rooms, over priced but pleasant staff.
Pros:

Location was great and staff were attentive and very polite. However, for what we experienced and subsequently comparing it to others in the area the room was highly over priced at £156/night. The room was very small and basic. We had to ask for the toilet to be re-cleaned and little things like no hooks for towels, low lighting and the bed was a little saggy all made it a less than special accommodation experience. Despite no staff issues, I wouldn't stay there again unless it was the only option.
