STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!!!
I am a Nurse and my wife is a Resident Support Aid. We both work hard caring for seniors. We wanted to celebrate the new year at a New Year's Eve dinner and dance hosted by Lagoon City Pier One Resort. We were so excited that we paid $349 in advance for the dinner, dance, and overnight room.
But the resort canceled the event and only partially refunded us. They still owe us $181. When contacted, they refused to repay the money they stole from us!!!
I booked this place expecting the pool being open as it was marketed here in Expedia that it has an indoor pool. We got there and they said the pool is out of service. It was disappointing as the staff were laughing about it.
The property location is beautiful. The building is tired. There was no staff available, no restaurant on our first night. Even with the negatives I would go again.
Love the location and views around. Driving around is very tranquil
The Lagoon city is beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed the quiet environment - away from the hustle-bustle. The property is quite dated and not well maintained. Appliances are a worn-out. Breakfast has very limited options of bagels, yoghurt and cereal - no hot breakfast. But the location is fantastic.
Unfortunately, our brief overnight did not meet our expectations. We were a party of 3 and stayed in rm 207, a king bed with a sofa bed in a separate living room. The sofa bed was already made, in fact, was not changed between guests, as evidenced by hair between the sheets. The mattress needs to be replaced badly since the springs could be felt through and caused a terrible sleep. The light bulbs above the table flickered faintly but were obviously very bothersome in the dark to the occupant of the sofa bed. The heat was off when we arrived and stayed cold in the hallway while we were there. We thought the heat
should have been turned on in preparation for our arrival. There was garbage in the closet dresser (a plastic bag and bottle cap). The drawers in the bathroom had pieces of hair in them. Overall, the housekeeping was very poor.
Great location and very quiet in the office season ; hotel and rooms kind of dated plus hot water takes few minutes to actually work .
Friendly service beautiful atmosphere
Beautiful place with the water in the background you definitely want to get a room with the water in the back
The continental breakfast could use a little bit more juice
We only had coffee and tea has options for our kids
Other than that, the staff was super friendly, super helpful. We were there for a wedding and they let us get the room very early.
And gave us late check out, which was wonderful
Front desk Is amazing
My only complaint is at night. There is no one at the desk and if you need water or anything else you’re not going to find it.
They really need of vending machine or something like that
or at least leaves a couple bottles of water in the room
Maybe they should have a minibar of some sort if they’re not going to have staff at night
This property is at such a great location right on the water but the rooms are very out dated.
Rooms need alot of TLC . Entire room needs a facelift - paint, new furniture
We were afraid to walk on carpet without our shoes on due to stains etc. Room had a smell to it.
On a positive - front desk was friendly
It is a great place for vacation with friends and family. It is very quite, clean, beautiful surroundings, convenient for fishing as well. Great service. We will come back and will book more time for sure.
It's a great gem of a place. Loved the area around. Amazing place for fishing and peaceful walk on the private beach.
Only bad thing for me was that The Pool is under maintenance and the Breakfast wasn't really any good. They basically had some bread with some spreads like butter and jam, and some boiled eggs.
Overall a Good sweet gem in a great location
Front desk closed at 5 pm. No text sent with lockbox code. No staff on the premises overnight - I would not have stayed here if I had known that. The room smelled musty, probably due to the carpet which had stains on it. Bathroom and bedding was clean.
I recently stayed there for two times and three nights, and it was indeed a relaxing experience. The resort is in a very quiet location, which made for some of the better sleeps I've had in a long time. Waking up and energized set me up for a productive day. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating.
One of the highlights of the resort is the private beach. It's a great place to take peaceful walks, and enjoy the serenity of the water, a perfect spot for relaxation, and watching the sunset from the beach is a beautiful note of goodness of life.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The facility is great and comfortable. I would stay there again. Do not expect too much from the breakfast. It is a self serving continental breakfast. However, Tim Hortons is just a short drive.
It was vary well kept, clean and beautiful. The free breakfast was not the best. They have a nice resturant tho and the food was great
I paid $370 for one night stay in a suite that was old worn down rust on the heater. Just look dirty. The walls need to be painted. There was a stove in the suite or used to be a stove now it’s got a metal piece over where I assumed the burners were and it was silicone, but it’s just flopping around.
The bed was uncomfortable. The comforter that they use on the bed was too thick. The restaurant didn’t open till 12 noon in the restaurant the walls need to be painted. The carpet needs to be changed just dirty looking for the price needs a major uplift.
Quiet and Clean place. Beach on the lake was beautiful in the morning
The room was dirty, widows not properly cleaned. Compementary Breakfast was horribe. The room charge were excessive. The property was not maintained and and washroom faucets were not working. The bath tub did not had the water blocker. Not recommended at all .
I think it needs a lot of TLC starting with the broken front doors that you could not exit and paint on the exterior would go along way and a good power wash would help a lot as well
