Art Deco Hotel Montana Luzern

Everything was outstanding. The hotel is decorated with great taste and lives up to its name. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was delightful. We had one with a balcony and a view to kill for over the lake. It was so good that we ordered twice room service so that we could have a private diner with a view in the privacy of our room!
Everything is outstanding and you will not be disappointed.
If you come by car, just make sure to book a car space.
The best hotel we had on this 2 weeks trip across Switzerland...and in our top 2 hotels from all of our trips to this beautiful country.

I stayed for 2 nights, and everything was amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was spotless and cleaned to a high standard, and the breakfast was delicious with a great selection. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you for the excellent hospitality!

A beautiful, classic hotel, with a million-dollar view of Lake Lucerne. Plus, how can you go wrong with a hotel that has its own funicular?

The view, the staff, the experience

Hotel within walking distance to many community amenities. Rooms are large with relaxing feel. Great view in the rooms.

Very bright and cozy hotel up on the hill (fantastic view if you get a lake side balcony room). Good size room for family with king bed and pullout couch bed for two kids to share. Room service dinner was good (4/5). Pillow menu is fun and helpful. I would stay here again and I have high standards for expensive hotels.

We have stayed in many hotels across the globe, also in this top tier. This is a hotel where all you expect from a luxury hotel comes together, from building, to view, staff and F&B.
It is truly one of the best hotel experiences we ever had.
The building is from early last century and kept in its original, high quality, style. Art deco can easily become kitsch, but not here.
The view over the Vierwaltstättersee (Lake Luzern) is spectacular, especially with our lake-view room.
Our room was spacious, with a beautiful bathroom and good bed. Towels were good and blinds kept the room very dark at night.
The 'beach bar' was nice and the Scala restaurant with a high quality à la carte menu and good wine list. The Dutch chef finds the right balance between high quality Swiss cuisine and new tastes. Breakfast on the outside terrace overlooking the lake was of outstanding quality. And the staff prepared a nice birthday and wedding anniversary cake for us, such a nice gesture.
That brings me to what, besides above, truly makes the difference: the staff. From reception, to restaurant, and everywhere else, staff was so nice, warm and courteous. From young (students of the linked Swiss Hotel School?) to more seasoned.
So in summary, this is the perfect Swiss luxury hotel.

We came last year and enjoyed it so much we returned and hope to come next year as well. We had a view over the lake which is a very big draw in coming here. The staff are super and we had a lovely large room. We had a couple of issues with our jacuzzi being cool which was a bit frustrating as the maintenance team adjusted the temperature down without asking us. Also we couldn't get the retractable blind over our balcony to work.We look forward to seeing the results of the renovation due to take place over the winter when we hopefully return.

Definitely the best choice when staying in Lucerne. Not far from the center, but in a quiet area. Not right on the lake shore, but uphill with splendid views and a very convenient funicular to go to the hotel right from the quay next to the Mandarin Oriental Palace. Relatively reasonable pricing, when remembering that we are talking about Switzerland. Very good restaurant with fabulous views. Excellent, friendly, well-trained staff. Especially I would like to mention Maxim, who was extremely helpful with all our needs and requests. We had a Signature Penthouse Suite with a Jacuzzi on the terrace and it was fantastic - surprisingly large, very clean and modern, very convenient. And the view from the rooftop terrace to die for! Highly recommend this hotel in Lucerne.
