Not given the room we had booked
Pros:

Stayed here for my partner’s birthday and it was a great location for where we were walking to for the day. Pretty building and grounds. Water bottles provided in the room.

We did not get the room we had booked on the booking.com app. This was supposed to be a special overnight stay for my boyfriend’s birthday which I even wrote in the booking. I chose this hotel as I liked the look of the deluxe double room with bath (and the balcony), so that is the room I booked.
Upon arrival we checked in at 3pm, went up to our room to find we had been given the standard room, with no balcony and a basic bathroom.
I spoke to the receptionist and showed him we had booked the deluxe double room with a bath. He said ‘you would not get that room for the price you paid’. A very dismissive and disappointing response as I only paid the price that was shown when I booked and chose that room, it is not my fault that was the price, my booking confirmation showed that was the room we booked. We were offered no alternatives and had to stay in the standard room. I asked if the room we booked was available and was told it was not. When we woke up the next day, the car park was completely empty early morning so I struggle to believe the room was not available as it was not a peak day that we stayed on either.
Although the standard room itself was still spacious the bed itself was very uncomfortable, springy and bumpy.

Nice venue but a very disrupted nights sleep
Pros:

Lovely setting picturesque grounds

Cons:

Wedding on at the same time of our stay we were told noise would stop at midnight but there were people running through the corridors early hours of the morning keeping myself and 3 year old awake! The fire alarm then went off at 3:30am and when I rang reception they said it was a false alarm

Good location but spoilt by bed
Pros:

Lovely setting, handy for Bedford, nice old house, good breakfast

Cons:

Awful bed, must have been 20+ years old, uncomfortable, stained , unpleasant. Would have been embarrassed to give it to a guest.

Lovely getaway, great location and food. Great to relax and get away from the outside world. My favourite hotel in Bedfo
Pros:

Good location, great staff, fairly decent food, bar has a good selection, nice area to walk or do a nice picnic on a sunny day, great service and very clean. The only thing I will say which isn’t a huge issue is that I asked if availability allows if our room could be upgraded, I was told that it was but when we arrived it was just a standard room but also I can’t complain because that is what I paid for but it was just a bit disappointing that’s all. But I can not fault them for anything at all, they always deliver exceptional service in every aspect and the staff are absolutely fantastic.

Pros:

The room was super spacious and cozy! The entire hotel has this chilly old money vibe, staff is great and the entire stay was very pleasant. One of the best hotels I've stayed so far.

Perfect stay, beautiful location
Pros:

Everything. The property is set in a beautiful location, and the room was perfect. I received a complementary upgrade to the signature suite and it was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean and spacious. Food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were very polite and helpful. I travelled as a lone female travelling for work and felt very safe.
