Good location, conveniently close to bus stop into city centre. Safe area with good parking at hotel. Breakfast was suff

Good location, safe area, and parking on site

Cons:

Staff are a bit unfriendly and snooty.
Stayed during the end of May heatwave, and there was no AC working, even though there was an air conditioning unit in the room! We were given just a tiny fan which did nothing! It was a bit like sleeping in a sauna.

Disappointing
Pros:

Excellent location for Oxford City centre.

Cons:

The hotel has no air conditioning and it was very hot. My room had a fan, which helped to some extent, but my companion’s room didn’t. When she asked she was told they didn’t provide fans but they miraculously found one when she said that my room had one. The hotel states, in a reply to other guests’ complaints about no air conditioning, that all rooms have fans! Neither room had a fridge so we couldn’t keep drinks cool and when we asked for some water for the room we were told we had to pay for it. In the event we were given one small plastic bottle of water each but only on the first day. We were in two adjacent rooms on the ground floor (Rooms 10 & 11) & there was a water pipe between them on an external wall through which there was a noisy, constant stream of water, day & night. I notice that other guests had complained about the same pipe two weeks ago in a review. We were told that the maintenance team had looked into it.

Disappointing
Pros:

The breakfast

Cons:

Booked hotel as it highlighted it had aircon.
Checked in and was not informed that the aircon throughout the hotel does not work.
The TV remote also did not work, and I was not offered an alternative
The "online" room service was offline, however I was not informed this and had to chase up food that I had ordered an 1.5 hours earlier to be told their online room service was offline!
The chair in the bedroom was broken, so when you sat on it there was no comfort and you sank
The shower was powerful however the shower frame had lost its sealant so when you came out of the shower, the bathroom was flooded.
No offer of a partial / full refund

Cons:

Extremely hot room during the heatwave - no a/c (not unusual in the UK), only a very weak ventilation system, but our window also did not open at all. We slept very badly, it was utterly stifling (and we live in France so are used to warm nights without a/c). If we hadn't only been staying one night, we would have left after the first night. Room was very overpriced for the service and facilities available. Breakfast was pretty mediocre.

chambre désignée avec vue jardin. voyez la photo de la vue… la fenêtre est une vitre fixe, impossible de l’ouvrir. Pas de climatisation, il faisait une chaleur étouffante sans pouvoir rafraîchir pour dormir. un simple ventilateur fourni qui fait le bruit d’un bombardier B17. bref, pas dormi de la nuit, hôtel à fuir.
