Excellent and friendly staff.
Pros:

The service of the hotel and restaurant was excellent. The food was some of the best we have had in our travels. And the price was a bonus. And as the location is near stores and other restaurants it gives you a great choice.

Great room, and brilliant location and staff.
Pros:

Central to Dunmow, has lots of character and great atmosphere. And the room was comfortable.

Cons:

Would be great if there were plug sockets either side of the beds. And also a chair in the room would have been nice.

Pros:

Breakfast was nice

Cons:

Dinner was very poor, limited menu and they had run out of some of the food, poorly presented. The service was slow in the restaurant due to limited and inexperienced staff. Our room was poor in need of refurbishment

A very comfortable and cosy time with great food.
Pros:

We were greeted well with smiles and happy conversations. We arrived early and enjoyed a coffee y the amazingly very warm log fire. It was very atmospheric in such a charming old building. Te coffee was lovely and we discovered our room was ready early so we made use of it before going out for the afternoon.
The evening meal we enjoyed that evening with our relatives was of a high standard and the waitress was charming and helpful. The room was quiet as we had asked for. The bar service was also excellent and the brunch we enjoyed on the 2nd morning. The staff could not have been more helpful and offered to take our cases to our room but we politely declined as we could manage thank you. Shops were suggested for our purchases too. they had a good knowledge of the town of Dunmow.

Cons:

The weather was not good at all but you could not help that .
