A lovely weekend visiting our daughter in Glasgow.
Pros:

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in Glasgow’s west end visiting our daughter.
The hotel was fantastic. Lovely large room and hotel is in a great location. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.
The staff are so friendly and the hotel owner really couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely be back here.
We had a lovely breakfast both mornings and they even threw in a complimentary breakfast both days for my daughter who lives 50 metres from the hotel.

Location
Pros:

Fantastic location, nice front entrance and warm welcome on arrival, we arrived early but just used the pool and left our luggage in secure lock up.
Staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful.

Pool
clean and facilities were good, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, pool towels.

Rooms
We got a upgrade fri standard double to comfy double, don’t know what direction in them both as no added extra in room, couldn’t leave window open due to traffic noise from motorway and then aircon didn’t work, reported next morning and not fixable so got moved to broadway apartment 1 bedroom but very nice.
Restaurant
We went down on first night , a bit expensive but fresh and a couple of free drink tokens as requested no maids so that was a bit of a saving.
Location close to Hydro and SEC, great bus service right outside hotel but we walked 9yr old granddaughter was with me, and enjoyed the walk, river Clyde on one side and argyle street the other, also walked straight up to kings theatre again great
location.

NEGATIVES not many
Room 616 a wee bit shabby and this was an upgrade!!!! But you’ll see by photos
Price of food on the steep side.
No fridge in room
Would I return Yes

Great place to stay
Pros:

What a fab place to stay. Staff were very friendly and happy to help with any issues. The accommodation was clean and beds are comfy. Is a great location for west end (which has so many great places to eat and drink), the museum, the hydro, SECC etc which is no more than a 10 minute walk. Close to transport links to the city centre but also only about a 20 min walk. Would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a budget friendly hotel in Glasgow. Ticked all the boxes for us as a family.

A nice hotel near to the OVO Hydro
Pros:

Stayed here for one night as it was a good location for going to the OVO Hydro for the Amy Macdonald concert. Friendly staff and decent room on first floor. Clean and tidy, just slightly tired in corners. Only downside we found was the pillows were a bit hard and we were awoken at 5:30am to loud banging noise that lasted a couple mins, otherwise a nice stay for the night.

Best Western Glasgow
Pros:

Arrived on a chilly day to discover Room 14 radiator not working. No thermostat fitted. Radiator very clearly not properly maintained. Reported fault to reception. They tried to fix it, but couldn’t. No backup heating systems available ie electric plug in heater.
The double beds are only standard size.
At meal times the lift system can take ages to arrive.
Hotel Supervisor advised that if we wanted to claim any compensation for our unheated room then it would have to be done via Booking.com
Room Cleanliness, shower, breakfast all good. Hotel Location for us was great!

Perfectly friendly place to stay
Pros:

Super friendly and hospitable staff. The very best breakfast offered anywhere. I’ve stayed at many hotels over the years and with the “free breakfast” it’s usually, “Well, here it is. Help yourself and have a nice day.” No so at this establishment. Here they actually serve you and dish out whatever you want. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone. Not too expensive either!

Pros:

We had a 3 day event in Glasgow and utilised this hotel for rooms and evening functions.
Lovely new rooms with pristine bathrooms, and great big function suite.
We had a great time and thank you, especially to Lorraine and Robin for their excellent hospitality and care.

Only good if you’re a heavy smoker
Pros:

The room and service was fine, but had a terrible smell of cigarette smoke despite the window being left open. Got worse during the night. Wouldn’t recommend the rooms in the basement for this reason - unless you are a heavy smoker. A shame.
