The location was great for us and the entrance was lovely. We enjoyed using the pool and the room we had was large enough to fit our whole group....
Unfortunately the room was really not what we were expecting. We were booking another hotel nearby but this hotel allowed us to stay in a room together so we went for this. We think the room is maybe not often used, there were a few broken things (blinds/bedside lights/sink blocking) which weren't deal breakers for us as the hotel grounds were lovely and the room was large...however there were really issues with cleanliness. There was a strange smell in the room, food left on the floor from previous guests, milk marks down the side of the kettle and sugar and crumbs over the tea tray. There also wasn't enough mugs etc provided for our group.
I did quietly mention it in the evening but sadly nothing was said or done about it.
We had been given lots of recommendations to stay here so hoping this was just a one off!

It was nice and secluded.
The last. Night of the stay had to go and get the duty manager as the room above the tv was so loud it needed to be turned down so went to see the duty manager
It’s a beautiful building with lovely grounds
Bed was comfy and clean. Access to pool. Good breakfast.

Excellent location friendly staff big room
Was told would order food in the bar then when we ordered was told too busy and no food available terrible service as was travelling with children .
Arrived for breakfast 8.30 limited hot food by 8.45 this was not replenished no sausage beans or mushrooms available . Was told by staff not more cold pastries available although a few more were supplied .
Good breakfast but could do with more choice of fruit in fruit salad. Bonus was great swimming pool. Good sized room and comfy bed. Definitely stay there again.
The only negative was getting out onto the main road if going right.

Great historic building, great staff and the SPA Facility
Went for breakfast @ 10am it was quiet, but if quiet or busy customers need the same service. Limited fruit on cold counter, fresh juice pots low to empty, coffee canister had cold coffee in it, had to ask for eggs as none available and no chocolate spread the staff member said it ran out the other day.

The whole place a bit tired and seemed a bit chaotic. The staff were friendly and helpful, but sometimes didn't seem to know exactly how things worked. The whole place feels like it could do with a bit of love and attention.
