Room was a nice size
- No hot water Saturday or Sunday
– Radiator blasting hot and wouldn’t turn off. I mentioned it on Saturday am was told someone would look at it today. Still boiling hot when we came home
– Between 22.15 and 22.55 I’ve been trying to call reception and no answer…
– bath panel handing off
– disgusting smell of drains in the bathroom
– table lamp not working
– Pillows were replaced as requested but only 1 each when there are 4 on the bed usually
– Tv remote not working, we had to turn tv off by unplugging the Arial!
– I thought it was a more luxurious hotel than Ibis which we’ve used previously but it feels very much like it needs a facelift and very expensive with no recompense other than “I apologise”.
It was good that you have access to the pool and spa.
In general the hotel wasn’t very clean. It was not well maintained at all. It looked like nothing had been updated for 20 years. The spa area was rusty and changing rooms very cold and looked extremely dated. Our bathroom had mold around the edge of the bath and sink. In our room 2 of the lights were not working. The front reception staff seemed fed up.
My friend staying in another room had no hot water both mornings.
Breakfast on day one was chaos, no hot food in the buffet so it had to be ordered, but it was very hard to order with the one person in the room doing everything. The selection of cold foods was poor and the coffee was really weak. The village around the hotel had St George’s flags tied to every street lamp…
Lovely period property, very nice
The staff were ok……
It’s very tired and dated. Paint peeling off and shabby. The breakfast was stone cold, I had to giro reception 4 times after the gym as my key didn’t work to get back to my room, eventually someone opened my room after an hour
The pool and hot tub were freezing cold and have been for months apparently at dinner, kept asking for the bill, after 20 minutes I decided to get up and walk out, it’s only then I was approached
Stayed here several times, work related stops. Always fine and the gym being included is nice.
Prices seem to have gone up a bit, but otherwise good vlaue as always.
Flickering lights, really weak internet connection to tv in room, broken remote. No hot water comes out the tap in bath, basin taps really hard to turn full of limescale and squirt all over. No curtains so the room remains light where the blinds dont fit appropriately. Landing lights shine through gap under hotel room door. Cobwebs. Stains on radiators in bathroom that look really unpleasant. Not a great experiance. Wont be going back
Christmas dinner. Awful. £90 each. !!!! Dont waste your money. Food was very basic and more like carehome food. Small portions. Processed style turkey. No roasties. Someone sat at our table. No apology from management. Very very poor.
The breqkfast was very good
i stay often . love the peace.
no safe
no air-conditioning
no fridge
Location
Room very noisy. Heating system noise
The building that was all
Everything the restaurant not the staff but the menu is ridiculous the seating plan / told where to sit when empty still same not the staff fault he unfortunately just works there lovely lad and the fact it is a cashless hotel wow shame on you a building with such heritage and you deny the good old English pound I was hoping to get married there but Jesus the state of the rooms filthy and dusty no better than a premier inn.
A very enjoyable stay with very polite and professional staff.
All good
Room spacious.
Breakfast. Choice a little limited, pastries undercooked. Staff in dining room pleasant but too few, no meet and greet, and staff absent from room 80% of time
Friendly staff and charming building.
We chose this hotel for its location near an event we were attending
Some things slightly dated otherwise everything was good
Staff were friendly
