Hotel Atitlán

Very beautiful property and gardens, breakfast was good

Excelente hotel para disfrutar de las orillas del lago. Todo el personal muy amable y siempre dispuesto a colaborar. Me gustó que tuviera incluído el servicio de kayak para hacer algo distinto. Las opciones de desayuno eran pocas, pero sustanciosas y muy rico.

El jardín y todo esta muy bonito y muy tranquilo para tener un día relajante. El cuarto estaba limpio y el personal atento.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location overlooking the volcanoes on Lake Atitlan. Beautiful well maintained extensive gardens and lovely swimming pool with lake view. Spacious rooms with great views. Delicious food particularly the buffet breakfast at the weekend, so much choice you don’t know where to start. Dining staff very friendly and great choice of food.

On arrival I was given a piece of paper and told that it was my WIFI. I spent about an hour that afternoon trying to get Winfield in my room but was unable to do so. I went to the front desk for help and was told “ here is your WIFi” Back in the room it wouldn’t work again. So back to the front desk where I was finally told that the WiFi only works in the lobby .i think I should have been told this at checkin.
After my first lunch I signed it to my room as I always do when dining at the hotel. Within five minutes there was a knock on my door saying that the front desk needed my credit card number. They should have asked for this at checkin.
Also service in the restaurant is very slow At dinner last night I waited 25 minutes before anyone came to take my order. The menus are grubby and the drinks folder needed rebinding

Beautiful grounds and stylish hotel. The regular rooms are a bit on the small side for a luxury hotel. This was by far the most expensive place we stayed at in Guatemala, at least double the price of other nice hotels we stayed at.

Annoyances:
- very poor and unreliable wifi in the room.
-having to pay each and every time we ordered something rather than at the end of our stay.
- All other hotels we stayed at had breakfast included, but not here and it was expensive, typically more than dinner at a restaurant in town. Weekends are buffet only (no other option) and the Sunday buffet is elaborate but was 500 QTZ for 2 (about $100 CDN).
- pillows were cheap and uncomfortable.

Lake Atitlan is beautiful and we might come back but would look for a more reasonably priced hotel.

El lugar es tranquilo y la piscina bonita.

We hosted an 80 person wedding at Hotel Atitlan and everything was spectacular! The guests enjoyed beautiful views of the lake and gardens, explored neighboring towns by boat, and raved about the hotel brunch and dinners. It is very hard to simultaneously plate 80 dishes of shrimp, steak, and veggies but they executed masterfully. The welcome party had tricolored tortillas, cheese, beans, two kinds of chorizo, and fresh guacamole and salsa. Between these amazing bites and the exceptional service and friendly staff everyone left impressed!

The property is very nicely kept. Has lovely trees and different kinds of birds. The view of the volcanoes is also wonderful.

Wow ! We had our wedding in atitlan on January 17th. Every aspect of the wedding exceeded our expectations. The food, the ambience , the attention to detail , the weather . The list is too long to mention.
Our wedding was 80 guests with 76 traveling from abroad for the wedding. We everyone had a blast and left with a fantastic experience. Special shout to CHEF!!!
Guillermo ensured the experience on the day of and the attention to detail was awesome !
