Just gorgeous - location was secluded and peaceful, the castle itself was beautiful, the room was absolutely amazing.
Lovely breakfast.
Loved the different rooms where you could sit and relax next to log burning stoves.
Nothing. We loved it all!
Very clean and comfortable. Loved the quirky details. Relaxed homely environment.
Dining room didn’t have the same vibe as the rest of the hotel. Beautiful ceiling but the tables and chairs etc felt more ‘bistro’ than castle.
Augill Castle is a very special place - we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary there and it was perfect!. The ambience, the staff, all the quirky artifacts in the castle, it was like staying in someones home. I would highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed and we hope to return! Thank you Augill Castle it was magical!
A great place to meet up with the family. Very well looked after and we couldn't have asked for more help and flexibility as our plans changed. Augill castle hotel highlights it's perfectly imperfect design and it nails it. It's comfortable, casual and welcoming making you feel at home straight away. Would stay again and explore the countryside.
The property was stunning the owner and staff were friendly and helpful close to were i was going highly recommend going here
Castle itself Very interesting and authentic .Very tranquil surroundings ,Accomodation very nice ,staff friendly and helpful.
Not great TV signal .
We needed somewhere to stay after finishing some medical treatment and Augill Castle was perfect for us. The service was personal and thoughtful and the food was delicious. The weather was good too, which helped, but is probably less predictable!
Fantastic stay in a great location
The place is amazing such a beautiful place to stay staff were amazing can’t wait to go back
The property was so unusual and comfortable but had kept original features
Perfect
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent! It was an easy drive to many attractions, including Bowes Museum. I would highly recommend going there.
The weather wasn't always the best.
Staff excellent. Bedroom, lounge, sitting, and other rooms were so well furnished in a period style. We loved it. The dining menu was terrific, set menu of 4-5 options for each course, but plenty to satisfy us. Food was great.
Prefer a queen bed rather than double, but maybe that was an option we didn’t chose?
Step inside Augill Castle and just let yourself enter an almost Alice in Wonderland world. Feel like a Tudor king having a toilet break on an old fashioned wooden loo. Spot the old fashioned record player in the bathroom. Have breakfast with perfectly mismatched crockery. Be encouraged to explore on your own rather than have a formal tour. Scare yourself to death by opening a door in your bedroom to find a single chair in a freezing turret. Staff were fun. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge for 6 hours doing a puzzle with a glass of wine. To top it off for us we got a spectacular Northern Lights display over the castle on our last night. Don’t expect a “5* resort” but definitely enjoy a 5* experience.
everything. fantastic room. best bed and doona we have had in the last 6 weeks of travelling. and a shower that works well and is easy to operate. staff are fantastic and breakfast is good, but afternoon tea is awesome.😎 4 post bed in the Pendragon room was good also. my wife had the best sleep so far on this trip. Jude was extremely helpful.
nothing
The property is decorated in a quirky manner - mainly antiques, but some modern pieces. It feels more like a relaxed home environment than a hotel. Breakfast and dinner was good quality, but dinner is not available on Mondays or Tuesdays.
The castle was a unique place to stay. Quirky and interesting. Restored the soul and instilled a feeling of calm - we felt at home and were so sad to leave. It is beautiful and peaceful. A place to explore and feel relaxed.
Nothing.
