The Oxalis Regency Hotel Magelang

You will be disappointed

This was an okay hotel in d middle of nowhere somewhere in Magelang. I was paid 2 b put in this hotel by my friend who has a wedding celebration for his son. If i had my way, normally I wouldn’t had chosen this hotel because it looks so unappealing and very ordinary. Nothing attractive about it 😕

Again d hotel was just okay. The view to d mountain ⛰ faraway was ok from my room balcony. Room quiet ok for size. AC works well. Bed were comfortable. Bathroom 🚽 was ok (although I read many reviews condemning d bathroom). TV was ok.

And for d negative reviews: Breakfast was horrible according 2 my friends so I don’t even bother 2 try it and cleaning room service only come way past noon around 3 pm 😅

So will i back ? Probably not. Will I recommend ? Probably yes if u are on a budget

The cleanliness. The room was better than expected and the whole place was in pleasant gardens.

Awalnya kani booking di Royal Suite, setelah mau masuk kamar, sptnya belum dibersihkan seluruh ruangan jd terkesan kumuh dan seram.
Akhirnya kami bisa minta oindah ke Junior Suite, kondisi lebih baik drpd uang kami hilang tdk jd reservasi akuirnya kami sepakat pindah kamar.
Sayangnya barang2 waktu mau masuk ke kamar juga dibantu oleh2 mbak2 resepsionis (sptnya kekurangan personel), bahkan sayabtdk liat ada satpam yg jaga. Hari3 pertama spt saya nginep sendiri di hotel ini krn yg lain baru booking pas hari menjelang lebaran.
Saat cek out kami harus bekerja keras angkat barang2 sendiri ke kendaraan kami, tetapi sdh mau sampai kendaraan ada dibantu oleh personel dari resto nya.

Keseluruhan tidak spt ekspektasi saya mengenai hotel ini.

Mohon maaf jika ulasan saya tdk berkenan, saya hanya mau menyampaikan apa adanya. Tetapi sy juga mau berterimakasih juga krn sy bisa dot kanar saat lebaran.

Mhn bisa ditingkatkan kebersihan, pelayanan tamu dan makanan sarapan pagi.

Gewoon goed hotel, niet erg sfeervol.

Oxalis resort is actually located at center of Garden and Resort area at Magelang City (Central Java).

The only facility is Swimming Pool.

The Price is low, especially for Group of 10-15, they have cottage with 5 spacious room

Located in city of Magelang... Had a balcony with nice view of Mount Tidar. Stayed 2 nights at junior suite room.

Check in... Waiting for 1 hours just to get room but perhaps because I came with large group.

Room: Stayed on 206, spacious, quite comfy bed, cool AC, balcony with chairs, view of mountain Tidar, Flat TV with low resolution and limited channel. Sadly no room WiFi connection. Quite new building but very bad maintenance.

Bathroom: need more thorough clean up work, not well maintenance. Bathtub with Hot water. Very standard amenities.

Breakfast: taste need improvement, not many choices of foods.

Meeting room: big and spacious for 40 peoples. Obsolete projector but it's working alright and quite clear.

Swimming pool ia small and not well maintenanced.

Overall: the hotel is quite okay if you need budget hotel for large group of people.

Tips: select the right wing, newer building, newer room.

I chose this hotel because of its good reviews on TripAdvisor and because of its beautiful mountain view. But after I experienced it my self staying for 2 nights, I don't think I'll be back to this hotel ever again. Here's why:

* Dirty toilet. Stains everywhere, leaking bathtub, poor toilet amenities, smelly towel.
* Poor choices of breakfast menu with limited portion. And it took forever to get our omelletes done.
* When we complained about all those things above, the staff apologized and explained that the hotel is lack of staff. Only 5 cleaning staffs of total 38 staffs to maintain all 53 rooms. "We sometimes cover others work field to make everything runs smoothly", said one of the reception staff.

But despite all those things above, the hotel staffs are very helpfull.

The best about Oxalis is, it have pleanty of spacious and open area... I do archery, and lucky me i could practice and shooting safely just in front of my room. The garden facility, the pool, jogging track, and the terace area... so releving.. so worth.. and indeed very valuable for money. Magelang and Oxalis the best place to stay and start the day to explore tourism destination in Magelang... especialy Borobudur and the others Candi.

nice hotel, but very remote and far away from Borobodur, despite the fact that this is advertised as being close to that attraction. Also, the hotel charged me extra for 2 extra beds, although I booked a family room for 4 people

"The Oxalis Regency Hotel" the rooms are spacious, clean, comfort, with Sumbing mountain view when the day is clear. Well treated outdoor pool surrounded by lush garden, trees and the air is very fresh. The food is delicious supported by nice view restaurant. Breakfast is complete and nice. When we trip arround the hotel we were shown to the ballroom, meeting rooms completed with prefunction rooms which is very suitable to have meeting, seminar, gathering. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The hotel is just 20 minutes from BOROBUDUR TEMPLE

In Short : HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Good bed and nice room. In the morning you will be amaze with the beautiful mountain view. Cool breeze and nice environment. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The Hotel located a little further down in South Magelang so you may want to bring a car or rent one. Swimming Pool was nice. Breakfast wasnt that good though. It was pleasant stay overall.

We found The Oxalis in the Internet at the last minute on our road trip. Lucky for us we got the last room available to spend the night. It turns out that everything a bout the hotel was wonderful. The room was nice, breakfast was good, staffs was friendly, we even had time to swim at their very nice pool before continuing or trip. The view of the mountain was relax and breathtaking. i recommend this hotel if you are ever in Magelang

I have been in Oxalis with my family. The hotel (I don't know why Tripadvisor lists it under the B&B category) is quite big and well kept. Rooms are very large and clean. The personnel is very kind and cooperative but most of them are not enough good with english (a common issue in that part of Indonesia) and this can sometime be a problem. The breakfast was quite poor, with a very limited buffet and something to be ordered but without knowing it in advance. Probably it depended on the fact that it was low season, but it shouldn't be a big deal for them to prepare a nice buffet even if for very few people (as we were over there).
Borobudur is at 30-40 minutes driving and in the next door hotel there are some nice amenities (paintball and rafting).
In total we had a good experience (spending 500.000 rupies per night per double) and I'm convinced that for this hotel it would be very easy to get better: just improve the english and provide a richer breakfast.
I would definitively recommend this hotel.

staff- courteous, helpful
great to stay one day , before going to Borabudur ., if on a holday
the buffet breakfast is really sumptous and enjoyable

All visitors should stay at Oxalis Regency Magelang before they proceed for their sunrise tour to Borobudur. They have rooms facing the Mt.Merapi and rooms are spacious. All staff are very courteous and friendly. Buffet breakfast is good too.
