Manohara Borobudur Cultural Center

Our stay on Manohara was absolutely spectacular - the service was incredible and our room, in particular the view from our room which looked out from the top of the hill towards the Borobudur temple was breathtaking - we loved our stay here and it was absolutely worth the money

The hotel accommodation is in a quiet location away from crowds and is beautifully tranquil. My room was very comfortable. Ticket for Borobudur inclusion for guests made it easy to enjoy this very special place.

We were very disappointed with this hotel. The hotel itself is actually good: it is clean, the beds are comfortable, and there is nothing wrong with the accommodation itself.

However, there are several things that were very unclear to us and other guests and are not communicated properly. You are staying inside the Borobudur park, but you only have one hour of access to the temple. This is literally monitored by the minute. You can upgrade to a sunrise ticket, but by Indonesian standards, this is quite expensive for the amount of time you get.

For us, it felt like a real money-making machine, with no time or space to simply take in the temple and let it speak to you. This feels deeply ironic when you consider what the temple itself is trying to tell you.

In our opinion, the spiritual frequency of this fantastic place has been completely disturbed, or even lost, because of the way this place is managed.

The staff were generally friendly, but noticeably more blunt than what we have experienced elsewhere in Indonesia. I suspect this may be because many guests run into the same issues described above and therefore have to significantly adjust their expectations.

If you are prepared for this, it is a perfectly fine and clean hotel. Just make sure you know what to expect before booking.

Todo, es una maravilla, está en el mismo recinto del templo. Nuestra habitación estaba en lo que llaman la colina, con unas vistas increíbles del templo pero alejado de recepción, tienes que pedir que te lleven y traigan en coche, pero nos ha encantado la habitación que es como un cabaña en alto, las vistas y todo. El desayuno bastante bien, mitad continental mitad oriental. El personal súper amable (que vamos a decir si los indonesios son súper agradables casi en su totalidad) y las instalaciones estupendas. La comodidad de estar al lado del templo no tiene precio.

・敷地からボロブドゥール遺跡の上部が見えているロケーションです。見えている方へ歩けば、遺跡の一番近くのゲートから入場できます。

・早めにチェックインすれば、夕方のすいている時間に、外観だけ見学しておくことも可能です。そのあとでアフタヌーンティー利用がおすすめ。

・宿泊者の登壇ツアーは「朝8:30」の枠で確保されている様子です。

朝食後、身支度して、フロント付近でガイドと落ち合い、支給のサンダルに履き替え、ゲートでQRコードつきの入場バンドを受け取り、朝の涼しいうちに登壇を開始できます

・登壇ツアーは1時間と決まっています。チェックアウトの12時までに余裕で客室に戻れます。シャワーを浴びて着替えてから、チェックアウトできます。


〈その他〉

・ツイン客室がおすすめです。ボロブドゥールのビジターセンターと同じ位置にあり、見学に最適です

・コテージタイプは、遺跡の北側の丘の斜面にあるようで、遺跡見学や食事処利用には、少し不便に見えます。雨の時も大変そう。

・外国では、客室に初めて入る時に必ず蚊よけのスプレーを持参してウエットエリアと部屋に噴霧していることもあり、蚊は見ませんでした。
虫が苦手な場合は、自衛の虫除けもおすすめします。

・チェックアウト後にグラブを呼ぶ場合、ピックアップポイントをフロント前の玄関に設定できません。マップ上は、警備のゲートがある遺跡エリア内だからだと思われます。フロントに助けを求め、配車後にドライバーにインドネシア語で位置を指示することを親切に提案してもらえたので、配車を完了できました。

This was a great experience, staying onsite at this historic location. and highly recommended The bungalow with views of Candi Borobudur was fabulous and includes access to the temple site. The staff were super helpful and organised! Breakfast was busy!!

The property is in a beautiful location with a calm environment. The surroundings and rooms harmonised with Borobudur. There was some building work going on but it still seemed quiet. It was busy during tour time but the staff looked after us when the breakfast buffet ran low towards the end of the morning. We were given a small complimentary bottle of water in the room and water was available in the restaurant. However, I was charged for an additional bottle of water which was surprising given the cost and intention of the Centre.

Op de locatie van de Borobodur, een betere plek om de sunset-tour te doen is er niet. In de cottages boven (met de shuttle word je gebracht), kun je het puntje van de Borobodur zien. Echt een aanrader. De locatie zelf is geweldig, niet overslaan als je de kans krijgt!
