We stayed at South Place Hotel in the heart of the City of London to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be a very comfortable and memorable choice for the occasion. The location worked particularly well for us, with the hotel well placed for exploring the City and getting around London without any difficulty. We were given a Junior Suite, which added a special touch to our anniversary stay. For anyone looking for a luxury hotel stay in the City of London with more space than a standard room, the open-plan Junior Suites are certainly worth considering.

Our first impression of the hotel was calm, modern and well organised. The design feels contemporary without being overly formal, and the atmosphere suited both a special occasion and a relaxing city break. Our Junior Suite was generously sized, with plenty of room to move around and unwind. The lighting was particularly well thought out, with touch panel controls and electric blackout blinds making it easy to adjust the room throughout the day and evening. Despite being in a busy part of London, the room felt like a comfortable retreat from the city outside.

The suite itself was very well equipped. The super king-size bed was comfortable and gave the room a real sense of space. We also appreciated the SMEG Lavazza coffee machine, which was a useful addition in the morning, and the Bang & Olufsen TV fitted neatly with the overall quality of the room.

The bathroom setup was another highlight, particularly the his and hers rainfall shower, which felt spacious and practical rather than simply decorative. A Dyson Supersonic hairdryer was also provided, which was a thoughtful premium detail. The WiFi worked perfectly throughout our stay, with no connection or speed issues. Overall, the Junior Suite at South Place Hotel felt well designed, comfortable and appropriately equipped for the price and setting.

Service made a particularly positive impression from the moment we arrived. Daria greeted us warmly at check-in, personally took us to our room and explained the hotel and its facilities in more detail. That personal introduction made us feel welcomed rather than transactional. Everything throughout the stay was handled smoothly, and we never felt rushed. For couples planning an anniversary stay at a hotel near Liverpool Street and Moorgate, the combination of location, comfortable rooms and attentive service works very well.

Food was another important part of our stay. We enjoyed a special anniversary dinner upstairs at Angler, which made the evening feel like a proper occasion without needing to leave the hotel. The following morning, we had a lovely breakfast delivered to our room by Bluebird. Having breakfast in the suite was a relaxed way to start the day and made good use of the extra space. South Place Hotel would suit couples particularly well, but it would also work for business travellers or anyone wanting a comfortable base in central London. Weekends are especially appealing if you want to enjoy the City at a slightly quieter pace.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable anniversary stay at South Place Hotel. The spacious Junior Suite, thoughtful room features, good food and warm service all contributed to a positive experience. The convenient City of London location is another strong point. I would happily recommend South Place Hotel for a special occasion or a comfortable London stay, and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our 5th or 6th visit which I booked as part of a package to visit the Angler.

On check in we were upgraded to a better room, which was a nice touch!

Our package included a bottle of bubbly and £60 credit towards breakfast, as well as the 5 course Michelin * meal.

The modern trendy room was fantastic as always, clean, quiet and comfortable.

Location is great for the area around Liverpool St and exploring other bars and restaurants in the area.

Breakfast was tasty where we enjoyed avocado and poached eggs on toast with cappos and lattes.

No complaints at all 10/10 and we look forward to returning again shortly.

My stay at the South Place Hotel was amazing, the staff were extremely friendly especially Leo, Anhelina and Daria - Would 100% recommend to others they were incredibly helpful and happy to help me when needed. Looking forward to staying here again!

Loved our 2 night stay in this hotel. Great location, It's right beside Liverpool St station and Moorgate station so if you're flying into Heathrow, you can get the Elizabeth line straight to the hotel. Staff are all excellent, room and bathroom is beautiful and really well equipped with high end equipment. Our package included a la carte breakfast which was amazing. We also had dinner in the casual restaurant Bluebird City which all 4 of us loved. The hotel also has a Michelin star restaurant The Angler. This hotel delivers everything you'd expect from a 5 star establishment. Just book it you won't be disappointed.

I had the best time and the best burger! The service was great, Fabio was very funny and took great care of us!
