Il servizio ricevuto è stato nettamente al di sotto degli standard attesi da un hotel a 4 stelle, e certamente non all’altezza della reputazione storica che la struttura intende rappresentare.

L’assenza totale di assistenza con i bagagli è stata particolarmente grave. Non ho ricevuto alcun aiuto né lungo le scale del cortiletto né per raggiungere il deposito bagagli: mi è stato semplicemente indicato dove si trovasse, nonostante fossi visibilmente in difficoltà. Ho difficoltà motorie e in una struttura di questa categoria mi sarei aspettata non un favore, ma un servizio di base. Le evidenti barriere architettoniche, unite a personale non proattivo, rendono l’esperienza problematica per chiunque abbia esigenze specifiche.

Anche la gestione della colazione è stata inadeguata. Avevo prenotato il giorno precedente per la mattina successiva; presentandomi entro l’orario previsto mi è stato detto che non risultava alcuna prenotazione e che avrei detto “forse”, circostanza non corretta. Invece di scusarsi per l’errore, mi è stato comunicato che avrebbero “riaperto per me”, come se si trattasse di una concessione personale. In un hotel 4 stelle ci si aspetta professionalità e assunzione di responsabilità.

Infine, nel chiedere informazioni su un’opera d’arte esposta nella struttura, ho ricevuto una risposta con tono sufficiente e condiscendente, del tutto inappropriato in un contesto che ospita turismo internazionale.

La mia esperienza professionale e la mia consuetudine con hotel di pari e superiore categoria mi consentono di valutare con cognizione di causa la qualità del servizio ricevuto. In questo caso, il divario rispetto agli standard attesi è stato evidente. Confido che la direzione voglia riflettere con attenzione su quanto sopra, poiché il livello di servizio riscontrato non è coerente con ciò che una struttura di questa categoria dovrebbe garantire.

First class stay, couldn’t be faulted. Everything we wanted.
Pros:

The room was perfect, plenty of space, very comfortable and stylish. The location of the hotel couldn’t have been better. So close to Grand Place and all the shops but also not far from the station and a taxi rank nearby
