A sense of peace and sanctuary in an urban setting.
Pros:

Excellent public transport links, just a short walk from Limehouse Station. The room was basic but very comfortable. Excellent, powerful shower! A fan was provided which was appreciated as we stayed during the heatwave. We were also grateful for the bottled water and good supply of tea, coffee and milk. Our room had a gorgeous view over the garden, which was so tranquil. The continental breakfast was nice too. Overall, good value for money.

Cons:

We thought we were staying in a historic property but in fact the accommodation was located in more modern premises adjacent to the building pictured. It felt a bit like going into a youth hostel at first! But this initial disappointment was quickly forgotten and we had a fabulous stay.

De randen in de douche waren gewoon bruin onderaan. Zo ook hoop je toch ergs on bacon te kunnen krijgen bij ontbijt…. Je betaald genoeg voor het onderkomen incl. ontbijt.

Even considering that it’s a charity organisation which needs to be supported and that prices of rooms in Holiday Inn Ex
Pros:

Location close to Limehouse Tube and DLR Station was very useful. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was adequate

Cons:

Size of room and associated facilities was very limited vis a vis the room rent. It’s ideal for an overnight transit facility. There’s no place in the room to keep luggage which the staff was helpful to stow elsewhere. Two thin people can sleep on the Queen bed provided but two larger individuals would find it difficult. Bathroom is also very small. Ventilation in summer is a problem because of window opening only partly. Hotel had provided a bladeless fan which was useful.

Pros:

Ein geschichtsträchtiger Ort inmitten der Stadt, es war eine sehr interessante Erfahrung. Eine sehr kurze Anbindung zum Flughafen London City und direkte Buslinie ins Zentrum waren sehr vorteilhaft. Frühstück ist gut, jedoch das Nachlegen oder Nachfüllen sehr langsam. Entweder Sie kommen gleich früh oder Sie bringen Zeit mit. Die von uns gebuchte Wohnung war groß, die Küche war gut ausgestattet, es war insgesamt sauber.

Cons:

Die Betten waren sehr durchgelegen und die Teppichböden sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Direkt unter einem der Schlafzimmer befand sich die Küche, die Lüftung dort lief ab ca. 7 Uhr und war nicht zu überhören. Außerdem hatten wir Probleme mit lauten Geräuschen in der Nacht, vermutlich aus der Klimaanlage. Diese waren auch nach der Meldung an der Rezeption und zugesicherten Reparatur in der nächsten Nacht wieder da. Für einen Ort, der mit Ruhe und Retreat wirbt, sehr unvorteilhaft. Wir haben dort leider schlechte Nächte gehabt. Auch das versprochene Lunchpaket für das Frühstück am Abflugtag war nicht zur vereinbarten Zeit fertig, sehr schade!

Pros:

Very close to DLR, very clean, good continental breakfast, good staff. Also guests were all polite, quiet and respectful, as you may expect from a retreat.

Cons:

Brasserie could do with renewal. Bath difficult for very old people (as they always are)

Pros:

kleines, aber sauberes Zimmer. Tee und Kaffee konnte auf dem Zimmer zubereitet werden. Wasser zum Trinken immer vorhanden. Sehr nettes Yurt Cafe zum verweilen. Personal super nett und hilfsbereit

Cons:

Küchenpersonal war etwas überfordert, Besteck und Teller fehlten, wurden nach Aufforderung aber hingestellt. Auch Lebensmittel wurden nicht automatisch nachgefüllt , sondern nach Aufforderung. Trotzdem war das Personal sehr freundlich
