Had 3 nights in this amazing hotel.
Never felt so comfortable and at home.
Staff great, service brilliant and everything to hand.
Only issue I had were how noisy the doors were when being shut.
Wonderful experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Above and beyond. Excellent location. Wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended. Will be happy to stay again when back to Barcelona.
Friendly and professional staff, clean room, very convenient location. Overall great hotel
Excellent location and very friendly staff. The pool is very convenient for summer days.
Very quite and clean, the front desk eas nice, helpful and friendly, great location is walkable to a different places. Good breakfast .
We very much enjoyed our three-night stay at the Hotel Catalonia Gran Via BCN. It was a quiet location, and reasonably close to a subway station that made transportation in the city seamless. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and there are numerous room amenities (kettle for in-room coffee and tea, housecoats and slippers, a tasty cookie on arrival, a rain shower, very comfortable bed and pillows), a buffet breakfast available (some have it included in their room cost), and a bar near the lobby with friendly staff. There is an outdoor pool as well as a fitness centre. This was a top notch place to stay in Barcelona.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was lush and the beds were soo comfy. We played light switch bingo most evenings- still haven’t worked out which switch is which.
We caught the number 59 from across the road which took us to the beaches in around 20-30 mins.
We loved our stay here. The staff were wonderful and friendly. We loved our suite and the welcome bottle of cava was a great addition! Location was also excellent, lots of bars and restaurants and walkable to popular areas of Barcelona. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
This hotel is a small quaint property that's walking distance to the city center, shopping, and various dining options.
Staff were great. The breakfast was amazing.
Great location, multiple sites are easily accessible, respectful and professional staff; wonderful breakfast
This hotel was well situated in Barcelona. The room were clean and the staff were friendly. I will stay here again when in Barcelona.
Really great neighborhood. Quiet and safe but also really walkable to the main tourist attractions and very close to the train. Great bakeries and restaurants very nearby. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming. We had a family room for two kids and two adults and it was enough space to be comfortable. The pool was handy for a quick dip for kids. On our last day hotel staff helped call us a taxi large enough to take us to the airport and it arrived promptly.
The hotel was in a great location, walkable to Las Rambles. Breakfast was good, the hotel was modern and clean.
The hotel front looks small but inside is big enough. The front desk staff are all nice and friendly. Upon checkin they said they upgraded us to Superior room. We had iced Cava in our room with a small box of lindt chocolate. The aircon worked well. We also found out they change our sheets everyday. The towels replenished (unlike other hotels they talk about saving water and you can re-use your towels etc) Our room was facing other houses/buildings at the back (not gran via st). One night there was loud music playing that woke me up at 2am. BUt other than that, my stay was great. There is tourist fee that will be added to your bill (EUR6+ per person per night) this is standard - some hotels depending on whether 2 star, 4 star, will charge less, like EUR5+ per person per night.
Good hotel. Centrally located. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms.
The ‘ hot’ food at breakfast from the food plates wasn’t hot enough. Good cold food choices.
The shower temperature varied a lot during the shower from warm to cold which wasn’t pleasant.
Very clean, and easily accessible to public transport. Very friendly staff too.
Great central city hotel.
Comfortable rooms
No traffic noise
Reception staff were consistently friendly and helpful
Good cold food selection for breakfast
Negatives:
The food on the hot plates, eggs etc were not hot enough
Shower water temperature fluctuated a lot during showers
Overall good value
Quiet place, steps away from metro stations and restaurants.
Very clean, no carpets. The only issue we had was with the shower, the water temperature was fluctuating between cold to really hot, you really had to be quick to move away from the water stream. The hotel said it was an issue they were working on but we stayed 4 nights and did not see any improvment
Decent hotel. Staff was ok, not overly friendly, but I think it’s common for the whole town. Not sure I would stay again as they had no way to get a/c and it got super warm. I couldn’t even turn the heat below 21 degrees Celsius…and that makes me sweat when I sleep. My daughter’s room had the option to go down to 20, but still to warm for sleeping. So miserable sleep is where the 3 start came from. At least make it to where we can turn the heat off all together.
