I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was genuinely the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced.

I booked Hotel Coluccini for a two-night stay while attending an important event in Forte dei Marmi. I chose it based on the amenities advertised on Booking.com, but unfortunately many of them were either missing or unusable.

The hotel claims to have English-speaking staff, yet check-in took over 30 minutes because the receptionist couldn’t communicate in English or understand my passport and visa. We ended up using ChatGPT to communicate, and she even scanned an expired visa instead of my valid one.

The room safe was broken and literally collapsed when I tried to use it, forcing me to carry my passport and jewelry everywhere, including to the beach.

The room was advertised as having a hairdryer, but it didn’t work. The hotel also had no iron or garment steamer anywhere on the property, despite many guests likely attending events in the area. I had to borrow a replacement hairdryer from the owner, which smelled strongly of cigarettes, and return it every time I used it.

The room was also advertised as having a minibar, but there wasn’t one, nor was there any complimentary drinking water. After returning exhausted from the heat, I asked for a bottle of water and was charged for it because there was nothing available in the room.

To make matters worse, there were repeated power outages, followed by outages affecting both electricity and running water for hours. I had to get ready for two important events using only my phone’s flashlight.

The overall maintenance was also poor, with visible spiderwebs in the reception area and an obvious lack of care throughout the property.

I understand that some issues can be outside a hotel’s control, but most of these were not. Providing working room amenities, maintaining the property, employing English-speaking staff as advertised, and delivering the facilities guests book and pay for are all the hotel’s responsibility.

Struttura datata. Camera datata, anni 80. Con una macchia sul soffitto enorme. Prezzo assurdo per una camera non ristrutturata e poco curata. Ma sappiamo che la Versilia e’ così. Non rinnova le proprie strutture ma le fa pagare care.
Sbaglio nostro non prenotare prima in posti più nuovi e accoglienti.
Posizione comunque top. Personale gentile.
