This is actually a really nice place to stay if you want to be making your own food or doing your own cooking. The room I got was a twin, which had sets of dishes for 2 people, including plates, bowls, cutting board, knife, frying pan, electric range, refrigerator, and several other convenient appliances. It was really nice being able to walk to one of the nearby grocery stores or convenience stores and get something to make a meal, it kinda lets you get a taste of what it's like to live in Japan rather than just a standard tourist experience. So this place might be good if you're looking for something like that.
The room overall was a bit dated and superficially a little beat up in some places, but that didn't bother me in the slightest. The bathroom is a little cramped and has a step up to get into, so if you're on the taller side, you'll probably have to watch your head. Other than that, the space in the twin-size room was really nice to have and may even be worth considering if you are travelling solo and going to be staying for a while.
There are also washers and dryers for doing laundry, and if you don't have enough coins, you can exchange bills at the front desk. Since there is no room service, you have to take care of that yourself, but I didn't view that as a downside. There is a fee if you want an extra set of towels from the front desk, but you can just wash the ones you have yourselves. My room had tissues, paper towels, and 2 rolls of toilet paper provided for my stay. I honestly didn't check at the front desk to see if they had a price for refills because I just bought what I needed (which wasn't a lot) at a nearby 100-yen store.
The station is less than a 5 minute walk and there are also some nice nearby places that can be easily walked to. There's an onsen nearby (Maenohara Onsen Sayano Yudokoro) that is really nice, especially on a rainy day.
