I was happy with the low price but presumably the premises are undergoing modernisation, but I was very pleased with the disability access room and wet room,
got lost three times trying to find my way to and from the disabled car park
Breakfast was very good and staff serving were pleasant and helpfull as were all the staff at Wortley hall , the hotel is in a quiet location which makes it a very relaxing stay.
Evening meal was excellent and reasonably priced
Drinks at bar expensive
Comfortable and nice with ample environment
Abit far from the train station
Lots of choice, good food
Nothing
The building was very charming with such beautiful old wood carvings and lovely large public rooms. The place is so large one nearly needs a map to find our way around.
The cooked breakfast was very good. The dinner at the bar had limited choice but the quality was good.
Staff were all very pleasant and attentive.
The standard bedroom room was quite small, the view was to the back of another building. The soft furnishing was cheap and cheerful, considering the price this was fine.
The setting was gorgeous, lovely staff very helpful and room was older which was a lovely aesthetic. Drinks were well priced and nice. There was an 80s event but it was not disruptive.
Unfortunately the grounds weren’t very well kept when we walked around, this would have been a gorgeous pond and gardens. The mattress was very stiff and hard. For the price, the room could have been nicer and better value for money. We were disappointed the breakfast ended at 9,45 as we hoped to checkout at 10 and get breakfast, where most places breakfast ends at 11.
Location. Going out to beautiful scenery
Complicated design, a bit like a labyrinth. to get to the room. Some investment need be made to restore windows frames, stairs, some carpets etc. Probably all depends to what customers offer to be tailored
Local to our requirements.
Upon arrival noticed the hotel was dusty and dirty up the stair case. Debris on the carpets. The room was dusty, tops of the lamps. Soap left in the shower from previous guest. Window didn't open. General cleanliness was poor.
Delightful spot and very atmospheric
Breakfast first class and terrific value
No food after 8pm, even in the bar
