In need of renovation
Cons:

We did not stay after check in. The room allocated to us for 2 nights was down a very dark dingy corridor. It was tired and in need of renovation and had a musty smell. Furniture and bed were very tired. Fabric around the side of the bed was ripped. Window would not shut, curtains very thin. Bathroom was also very tired and in need of renovation
We checked out immediately.
Took a while to get a refund. Booked through booking.com and communication between hotel and booking.com was not good. After chasing up both parties it was finally resolved after 3 weeks.

An historic venue in the heart of beautiful South Yorkshire
Pros:

It’s the most beautiful location and a property with a great history. It’s not 6 star decadent luxury but it is a great hotel with a lovely team

Cons:

There isn’t much to dislike unless you’re a Reform voter

Loved the stay though cant justify the room price for 2 nights
Pros:

Location and views are stunning. Lovely staff and bar area was very fancy. I felt the overall area was incredible and the staff were lovely and pleasant

Cons:

Breakfast could have been better. Felt it was more like a morrisons style breakfast as it wasn't worth the 15.00 overhead. The only decent thing would be the cereals and juice selection. I felt that the overall look of the place was amazing but there is structural areas that need improved. In the room the place was like an oven with no air conditioning apart from fans which when switched on smelled like burning. The windows will need updating as they aren't the best in terms of ventilation and the shower screen wasnt very effective at keeping water out. The floors uneven which is a trip hazard especially after a few drinks we could easily fall on.

Location and friendly staff. Food excellent

Paid nearly double for a room with booking.com that was nearly half the price if we'd booked directly with you
No view from bedroom. A stone wall 3 metres away

Nice to stay in a preserved country manor of this caliber.
Pros:

Nice room. Meals were generally good. The only problem is when you book through booking.com breakfast is not included. We weren't informed about this.

Cons:

just a few small things could've made the experience much better. For example, a brush to clean the toilet with which was not present. A fan in the room because it was quite warm. Some other tiles in the bathroom were loose.

Lovely in general, a few details disappointing
Pros:

breakfast excellent; staff very helpful, especially obliging in allowing charging of ebike

Cons:

Had a meal as part af a part of 13. Reaction was mixed - those who had steak or fish very happy, the curries were disappointing, very little in the way of spice
The double bed was on th small size and very creaky making sleep difficult, especially during a hot night

Weekend stay.
Pros:

Room was quiet, bathroom was great! Lovely shower.

Cons:

Bed was a small double so not a great nights sleep. Window in bathroom had a broken latch so no way to secure it or the room.
