It was fairly close to the airport so easy to reach. The staff at check in was very pleasant and helpful.
For one night, I did not access the other facilities so I am unable to objectively rate it.

The rooms need fumigation - there were roaches, not sure if I mentioned this to the hotel
Every morning, the need to replenish utilities even if the guest has requested for the room not to be cleaned
As much as the check out is clearly written,you need to be patient with tourists especially those that came early.
The Staff
Location was excellent. The room and hotel were clean.
The air of the room was mouldy and wet. The generator was very noisy.

À notre arrivée, la télévision ne fonctionnait pas. Nous avons dû attendre près d’une heure pendant que les techniciens essayaient de résoudre le problème avant qu’elle fonctionne enfin.
Le lit était également très décevant : il grinçait énormément au moindre mouvement, ce qui a rendu la nuit peu agréable.
La chambre en elle-même n’a rien d’exceptionnel et ne correspond pas au standing attendu d’un hôtel 4 étoiles.
Le seul véritable point positif est la vue depuis le rooftop où est servi le petit-déjeuner, qui est magnifique et vaut le détour.
C’est dommage, car avec quelques améliorations, l’expérience pourrait être bien meilleure.

Exceptional service and genuine hospitality! The staff consistently exceeded my expectations with their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.
A truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with a perfect blend of Zanzibari charm and modern comfort. Every member of the team made me feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The location is ideal for exploring Stone Town, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend Turaco Spice Tree to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

Wonderful place to stay. The Taarab Restaurant is delicious but the service is outstanding. Such nice and delightful people. Kalista is amazing.
From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. The warmth of the staff, the beautiful atmosphere, and the unique character of the hotel made my stay truly special.
