What a lovely hotel in the beautiful, historic city of Stonetown. Close to everything you want to see, fabulous staff, beautiful grotto-style pool, and had lots of fun watching the World Cup matches with new friends in the garden restaurant. What a great time we had! Thank you!

We had the pleasure of staying at Spice Tree Turaco in Zanzibar for two days with our group from Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, and the experience was simply outstanding. The team here is incredibly generous and friendly, making us feel welcome from the very first moment. The homes are beautifully designed, comfortable, and full of character perfect for both rest and group sessions. Their hospitality went above and beyond, and every detail reflected genuine care. Spice Tree Turaco is a true gem in Zanzibar, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for warmth, comfort, and unforgettable service.

We stayed at Turaco Spice Tree Stone Town for one night at the end of our Zanzibar familiarization trip, and we enjoyed getting the opportunity to experience the property before heading home.

The biggest highlight is, without a doubt, the location. If your main goal is to explore Stone Town, you really can't ask for much better. The hotel is located right in the heart of the city, just a short walk from Forodhani Gardens and many of Stone Town's most popular attractions, restaurants, shops, and historic sites. We absolutely loved being able to walk everywhere instead of having to arrange transportation each time we wanted to go out. It made exploring the city so convenient and enjoyable.

The staff were very kind and welcoming throughout our stay. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived and were always willing to assist whenever we needed anything.

One meal that really stood out to me was the lobster we had for dinner. It was absolutely delicious and easily one of my favorite dishes during our stay. You could tell the kitchen was putting in the effort, and we appreciated that.

Turaco Spice Tree Stone Town offers a different experience from Zanzibar's beachfront resorts, and that's what makes it a great option for certain travelers. If you're looking for a comfortable, budget-friendly place to stay while spending your days exploring Stone Town, this hotel is definitely worth considering. I had a wonderful stay at Turaco Spice Tree. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The balcony is the perfect place for breakfast, dinner, working, or chilling. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the biryani! Most of all, the staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating.
