Comfortable stay.
Pros:

Rydges is in a great spot. Great restaurant on the ground level. Easy walk to other cafes and shopping centre.

Very tired and unclean. I paid a crazy price per night for a very old and tired room. The first room they gave me had mould all over the bathroom. The second was not much better. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Not value to money. Over priced for the condition of the room, furnishings, appliances and items supplied.

Continently located. Cleaning staff were lovely. Beds comfortable

Cons:

Kitchen lacked a lot of essential items, had to ask at reception for plates (2 only in the room). Dishwasher didn’t work. Not enough soap supplied to hand wash dishes, and the supplies provided needed scissors to open… but no scissors in the kitchen. No hair dryer in the bathroom. Washing machine flooded the kitchen when used. Dirty clothes left on the balcony. Dining chairs falling apart, some unusable. Additional deposit taken from credit card not refunded.

Watching young teenagers from my balcony trash the shared car park with the Rydges outside laundry. Then calling reception and explaining the situation and I could hear them laughing. So obviously didn’t take it seriously. They finally got security out to sort it out. The doors on level 3 should be locked so none can sneak in. You need more security, to many dickheads about.

Staff on reception friendly.

Cons:

Locking the internal door after 10.00pm does not protect guests who want to go to the bar or Pokie room . Guests are forced to walk out the front door and walk around the block to enter via Moss on Wood entrance.
This is more dangerous due to the number of loiterers in the streets late at night.
There has to be a better and more convenient way as this is not thinking of their guests safety. Regular business traveller to Mackay but I wont stay there again .

Comfortable Stay
Pros:

Great location, rooms are a good size with good separation between areas and are well setup to relax and undertake work. Just enough facilities within room for an easy stay.

Cons:

It was all very good.
