Noise from traffic. Bed was uncomfortable

Very expensive for a dive hotel which happens to be in a convenient location to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. TV didn't work (very bad streaming - broken up to the point of picture, also no remote control) and was hoping to watch the world cup final there before going to my concert.

No lifts, no house keeping unless you asked for it, staff were quite rude, no luggage room so you have to pay for late check out and rooms are boiling hot so you have to put on the aircraft engine to cool it down.

Aunque no tuvimos ningún problema, daba un poco de miedo pasar a segun que horas por la esquina del hotel.

No elevator

Noisy. Very tiny. Said ice was available yet when asked said a guest had taken their ice trays and not returned. I guess couldn’t get new ice trays. When we tried to go out around 10pm the hotel door was locked and he had to put in code to open for me. Very unsafe. Asked for first floor due to mobility issues (weeks in advance ) and still put on second floor. They claimed they would “try”. Yet nothing was accomplished. Don’t expect to sleep.

Das Hotel ist uralt und extrem klein. Es hat keinen Lift und das Treppenhaus ist eng. Das Zimmer ist klein man kann nur von einer Seite das Bett besteigen. Zu zweit ist das lästig. Das Bad ist winzig klein und stinkt nach Urin. Der unangenehme Duft war immer da. Die Ursache konnte nicht ermittelt werden.. Die Badezimmertüre konnte nur mit Gewalt ganz geschlossen werden weil sie klemmte. Für diese Absteige ist der Preis extrem übertrieben. Wir waren froh, als wir abreisen konnten.
Es war dazu extrem laut. Die Ganze Nacht gewaltiger Lärm von der Strasse. Jeden Morgen um 4:30 Uhr wurde irgendwas mit Motoren gepumpt schlafen sogar mit Ohrstöpsel unmöglich.

Tough one, because some of issues you obviously expect before you arrive..
It is very noisey, but you have to expect that given the location
The room iself was very basic - again you kind of expect this though for the price paid & location
The bathroom was very small - I'm 6'4 & struggled to fit in either the shower or on the toilet
There's no elevators, so if you're on the upper floors with luggage, be prepared.for a slog up the stairs!
TV in the room didn't work

Not sure if this was a hotel issue or Booking.com issue, but my reservation had been cancelled prior to my arrival, so I had a frustating hour going back & forth with the front desk who's English wasn't great, trying to sort it out - to be fair, they did in the end, but it wasn't ideal after a long journey!

There were roaches in the room. The sheets had stains. Something that looked like the heating system was broken. There was tissue paper stuffed into I’m guessing the toilet motion sensor . The bathroom fittings were all loose and we also found a hair on the shower faucet.

Given that the property is located in the heart of Midtown manhattan we weren’t expecting any luxury but some basic upkeep and hygiene surely can’t be too much to ask for.

Absolutely shocked that Booking.com would list such properties

3 flights of stairs after a long day sightseeing but knew in advance so not a major problem
