If I could rate this place 11/10 I would. Despite the fact the hotel and surrounding grounds are incredible, the staff and experiences are what make this place. We have never been somewhere with such exceptional service. Would highly recommend the trip out of Santiago to anyone visiting Chile
Dissappointing. Our stay was just average.
The structure of the hotel is to the next level in architecture. The rooms, the decor the pillows , the bathrooms. Everything in this hotel is well thought of , very luxurious!
I loved every minute of our stay ❤️
It's once in a lifetime experience that every wine lover should do .
Grande experiencia
There are good aspects to this hotel - location, hotel and winery facilities, rooms, scenary - but also some less good aspects - which have been noted on other reviews and which relate to service delivery, especially in the dining area, and the use of relatively untrained and unfocused staff, poor management of the staff and seemingly a logistical issue between the kitchen and the dining area.
This hotel likes to describes itself as the most luxurious hotel in Chile. This is nonsense.
On the plus side the hotel itself is comfortable and the location is brilliant. The use of WhatsApp to communicate with guests seems to work well. The winery tour is spectacular and well worth it and the horse riding is a nice activity - although despite prior booking when we were dropped off they were not expecting us leading to a 30 minute delay while the horses were saddled up. Note that there is no English speaking at the riding stables so dont expect any kind of explanation if you are not a Spanish speaker. The bikes are ordinary bikes rather than ebikes so given the hills and rough terrain would be hard going. E bikes would be a real bonus IMO.
And so to the restaurant. On the face of it the food is high end at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is decidedly ordinary. It looked to us as if the food is prepared somewhere below the dining room and somehow transported upstairs to the dining area by which time anything hot is no longer so. The plates were at best lukewarm - rule 101 of running a restaurant in my book. The food choices are quite limited ie none really at dinner except the ability to replace say lamb for the main course with beef/salmon/chicken - everything else the same on the plate. On the face of it the food looks high end but we found it to comprise some bizarre combinations and hot things not always arriving hot. The staff in the restaurant appear to have little direction ie no one appears to be in charge overseeing things. On our final night we had at least four different waiters coming to the table - sometimes asking the same question. It felt like we were being constantly interrupted. On the switch to beef the waiter failed to take/record the cooking instructions and as a result the beef had to go back. This meant that everyone else at the table finished before the beef re-appeared. When it did the so called fillet steak was probably another cut passed off as filet steak. Certainly not very tender. Talking to one waiter he was not, for example studying trainee hotel management as one often finds but just a waiter. This might be ok if there was proper direction but there wasn’t .
The hotel itself is showing some signs of wear and tear not fixed. For example one of the swing seats by the front office had damaged fabric. Some of the painting in the rooms looks a bit careworn, the safety net below the infinity pool was partly broken - hope no one goes over!
All the above is a pity because the hotel has the potential to be a great 2-3 day memory. It needs new management and some investment however.
This was an expensive hotel. Whew we got there we realised why. It is an island of calm in the middle of nowhere. The staff were brilliant, really attentive and always with a smile. The wine tasting tour was so good. Haviera just brought it to life. Her passion was infectious. Riding a horse for the first time was interesting. Would definitely recommend. Worth the money
We stayed at VIK for 3 nights. The views in every direction of the hotel are just stunning. The service was wonderful and they were all so friendly and engaging and the restaurants on the property were amazing, as were the wines. We had a massage at the spa and it was lovely. There is an infinity pool and hot tub, but the water was too cold to get into the pool. To use the hot tub, you have to make a reservation for 30 min increments. We did this, but it was a bit awkward to "kick" out the people in the hot tub so we could use our time.
The rooms had amazing views and the bed was comfortable. There were no comfortable chairs or even a desk in the rooms to lounge around, which we missed. The shower had low water pressure and the floor was very slippery, so not super functional.
Overall though, these were minor issues. The hotel is stunning and worth a visit for sure.

The Vik is a wonderful place to have great customer service, beautiful rooms with great views and without a doubt the most delicious food imaginable. Every bite was interesting and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed things I didn’t know I liked! We did the garden tour and really enjoyed seeing where they grow much of what they serve in the dining room. We also enjoyed the wine tour and had some great Vik wines shipped to Texas.
The grounds are transcendent. We felt like we were on top of the world with the location of the hotel on the hill and the views were magnificent. The staff was courteous. The food was Michelin Star quality.
We were able to get to the dining area off the deck without staying at the hotel. Our sweet waitress saw that we were able to taste two of the wines that they usually serve by the glass during dinner. A lovely explanation was given of each which made us quite happy that we were not on the very overpriced winery tour. Both (blend and carminares) were very good and atmosphere overlooking the infinity pool was first rate. The delightful waiter we paid as we left was really nice, also. Glad we were allowed to experience this Dubai-esque hotel and VIK wines without staying here.
O lugar é maravilhoso

A experiência toda em si
We had a great stay at the VIK hotel. The service and attention to details were outstanding. The infinity pool, sauna and jacuzzi were great. The mila mila restaurante was fantastic as well. The bedroom and bed were great and the decore absolutely special. The view from the hotel of the valley is just amazing; unique sunset!
