People were friendly, room was clean.
We found a bug in our room. Not a bed bug, but some other type of insect. Might need a visit from
an exterminator.
It is close to my daughter and where she lives
I didn’t like that the pool and the room the pool was in was very cold. I booked this hotel so we could have a pool for the kids that needed some outlet for their energy during this cold time of the year.
Friendly professional staff, clean fresh room! Front receptionist went above and beyond to accommodate my requests.
Room didn’t need cleaned daily but would have been nice to have trash removed daily. Staying in hotel you often have food containers to dispose of.
It was very clean and staff were very friendly.
Nothing
Everything
Everything was great
Victoria was very pleasant at check in
Affordable and spacious room size. Staff was friendly and professional
Floor needed to be vacuumed. Someone else’s toe nails were left on the carpet beside the bed.
My wife and I have a huge family in Lynchburg, and we live in SC, at the Beach. We love coming to the area for Family events but our experiences with the hotels has, up to now, been abismal.
We have stayed in several of the major brand hotels in the Lynchburg area and have been very disappointed in the service, the cleanliness, and the quality of the properties. However, we figured we give it one more try and stay at one of the Hilton properties this time.
We had a family gathering, planned for December 20th so we needed to stay overnight December 19th and 20th. Of course we went on Expedia to go Price shopping and read the reviews of the hotels that were close to where we wanted to be and the first choice was the Hampton Inn & Suites across from the airport. We had stayed at one of the other hotels in that vicinity and we're very disappointed so we we're hoping that this hotel would be different. The reviews that we read said it was a great choice so we booked .
Parking was right out front, the valet carts were right inside the front door and the front desk was staffed and welcomed us when we rolled the cart in.
The front desk clerk was very professional and gave us a room on the second floor that met our needs, from the reservation. It was a room with a beautiful view, not near the ice machine, and not near the elevator. It was handicapped access and it was immaculate. After giving us the electronic keys they gave us bottled waters and some Sun Chips which kind of blew me away. Most hotels have a little store where you have to buy those things but not at the Hampton Inn.
Our room was bright and clean and it smelled clean.
I worked with the hospitality industry for 15 years in my career and I have been exposed to some of the finest properties and also some of the lowest quality. This property was right there at the top and a bargain for the quality of service and the amenities.
Some of the hotels serve a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning, and some of them charge extra, and in my opinion they are to be avoided at all costs.
The Hampton Inn offered a different menu each morning. There were handmade omelets, fresh waffles, country gravy and biscuits, wonderful sausage, a variety of fresh juices, fresh fruit, excellent coffee, breakfast pastries and even a selection of cold cereals and instant grits and oatmeal. The dining room was very comfortable, well lit and extremely clean. We ate there both mornings and I want to tell you the food is excellent for a small kitchen in a hotel. We were blown away.
When we got to the room we noticed that the refrigerator was a little noisy so I called the front desk and maintenance came to the room immediately and took care of the problem. The maintenance man, Daniel, also showed us how to use the electric blinds that had a remote control. I had never seen this in a hotel and it was a nice touch.
The bed was very comfortable the bed linens were premium quality as well as the bed coverings and the pillows.
We didn't use the in room coffee machine because they make coffee in the front lobby fresh all Day along with hot chocolate or tea.
I know a lot of people come up to Lynchburg for Liberty University events and I will tell you this, as a seasoned Traveler, this should be your first choice in hotels. When you can get a room and service this good for the price that they offer, it's a no-brainer.
Will be back in Lynchburg soon and I can guarantee you this will be our first choice for lodging.
Good location
The hotel tried to charge my card higher than confirmed on Booking. When I protested the assistant GM rudely insisted on the higher charge quoting “policy”. This policy was not included on the Booking site. Since I refused the higher payment he cancelled the reservation despite me explaining that my family and I had been traveling all day. We were forced to find another hotel that night.
This Hampton Inn is conveniently located just off Highway 29. It’s the halfway point between our home in South Carolina and my family in northern Virginia. We’ve stayed here for years. It’s also convenient to shopping and restaurants. Be aware that Liberty University is also located in Lynchburg and there are times the hotel will be full (such as moving in and moving out days, parents weekend, tournament games and graduation). Special kudos to Ellen who fixes breakfast; it’s always a pleasure to chat with her. Phillip and Kate at the front desk were warm and friendly as we checked in and checked out. And, the cookies were a special treat when we checked in after a long trip. We will stay here again.
room was clean & comfortable, location was good, and staff was friendly
