Farris Bad

My partner and I stayed at Farris Bad for two nights. Given the hotel’s reputation and positioning as a high-end spa destination, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, while the spa facilities themselves are very good, the overall hotel experience left us unsatisfied.

Starting with the positives: the spa area is well maintained, relaxing, and clearly the strongest part of the hotel. If one visits primarily for the spa, it offers a pleasant experience.

However, the accommodation and service quality did not meet the standard one would expect at this price level.

Room Experience: We booked an Ocean Superior room, which turned out to be disappointing. Although it is technically possible to see the ocean from the balcony, the main view from the bed was a road rather than the sea, which felt misleading for this room category.

The room itself was:
• Small and clearly outdated
• Missing basic modern amenities (it was not possible to connect a phone or PC to the TV, no YouTube, no Netflix)
• Lacking essential items such as hand towels and a floor towel after showering
• No safe in the room, which is surprising for a hotel of this category

Housekeeping was also below expectations: the bed was poorly made, and overall attention to detail was lacking.

Breakfast: Breakfast was very basic, with a limited selection. It did not compare favorably even to several 4-star Strawberry hotels, which often offer a broader and higher-quality breakfast experience.

Overall Impression: The hotel appears to rely heavily on its spa offering, while the rooms, housekeeping, and breakfast experience fall behind. This creates an imbalance between price and overall value.

Conclusion: In summary, Farris Bad may be suitable for a spa visit, but as a complete hotel experience, it does not currently justify its pricing or reputation. With updated rooms, improved housekeeping standards, and a better breakfast offering, the experience could be significantly improved. Until then, I would be hesitant to recommend it for an overnight stay.

Always heard great things, surprised our stay held up to the high expectations. Really enjoyed my stay and will absolutely visit again.

Farris Bad is a excellent stay even only one day, i9s give you a good relax feeling when you live. Recommended

A balm for body and soul with a wonderful spa and sauna ritual. Beautiful art, both inside and out. A perfect stay to recharge your batteries.

We celebrated a birthday and are very grateful for the excellent service the hotel provided for us. We look forward to our next visit.

Really enjoyed the stay, very nice SPA and outdoor area, nicely decorated and the beds exceeded any expectation.

Farris Bad er nok supert for de som liker å tasse rundt i badekåpe for å ta seg inn i ulike badstuer etc. Pluss for beliggenhet ift hav og strand. For gjester som ikke er så interessert i badedelen, blir Farris helt urimelig kostbart.Ellers greie rom og grei frokost. Hyggelig personale i resepsjonen.

Vi hadde et veldig hyggelig opphold på Farris Bad. Vi var nok heldige at det ikke var så mange gjester akkurat da vi var der, for vi opplevde aldri at det var veldig fult verken i frokostsalen eller spaet.
Det kunne gjerne ha vært flere knagger på badet til å henge opp vått badetøy og håndklær.

We truly enjoyed our stay – a wonderful spa, delicious food, a magical sauna ritual that did wonders for the body, excellent customer service, and amazing meals for both dinner and breakfast. We will definitely be coming back!

Another great stay at Farris Bad.
The summer specials are great value.
We were here with our extended family plus our dog.
Great for everyone.
The facilities are really, really good, and compared to other hotels this is a true spa experience.
Also - our dog Pepper was once allowed to stay. They really make dogs as well feel welcome!

Fantastisk spa, middagen var ikke bra, svidd biff og en elendig kongekrabbe til forrett. Servitøren var blid og høflig men treig og sølte hver gang han helte noe oppi glasset. Kjempegode drinker i baren og en kjempebra frokost. Kommer nok tilbake men da uten middag der..

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel’s location is fantastic – right by the sea, with a beautiful sandy beach just outside the door. The warm indoor pools and the option to enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi made everything feel extra relaxing.

The pools were clean and inviting, though a few areas could use some maintenance – understandable considering how frequently they're used. The hotel overall was clean and well-kept, and we felt very comfortable.

Even though there were many guests, it still felt peaceful, especially in the spa area. We had pre-booked time there, which likely contributed to the calm and quiet atmosphere.

The only minor downside was the dining area. The room itself was beautiful, but the acoustics made it a bit noisy at times. Some soundproofing would have improved the experience.

Other than that – great food and drinks, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. We’d love to come back – highly recommended!

I have been a guest at the hotel many times and I have been very satisfied with the quality of the food before but not this time.

Amazing location and we enjoyed it Very much! The hotel is right next to the water and it’s an amazing view. I recommend this place for everyone who wants to relax.

Staying for a long weekend, the dinner was great , the spa is fantastic great facilities rituals, Albert in the restaurant was fantastic and provided a great service, certainly to be remembered. It is the perfect get away from a busy city life style
