From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. In line with the Malaysia government’s decision to implement Sales and Service Tax (SST) of 6% effective 1st January 2022, this tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in.
Guest must present the same credit card used to guarantee the booking when checking in / making payment at the hotel, hotel will not accept any third party credit card.
All of our guest rooms are equipped with a Bacfree water filtration system, ensuring clean and Halal drinking water directly from the tap for your comfort and convenience.

Noting dislike
It was a surprise to enter it and see that the entrance actually looks grand and smells nice (externally it looked tired), the room is not as old fashioned as it looks from the photos . It’s clean and big, it has all the 5 star facilities - a grand entrance with a doorman opening and closing the door and taking out luggage for you. There’s a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, a ball room, the entrance hall and hallway are spacious with plenty leather sofas. It has a bar area and even a room full of big teddies and comfortable leather sofas for private meetings. It also serves a good variety of international breakfast, which is included in the price for the stay. It was good value for the money. Also, location was good too: there’s a food stall market right opposite the hotel which opens early and close at about 4pm. There are quite a number of major banks just within 2 min walk to get cash from. It’s very easy walk to the Chew Jetty, Armenian Street (where the street arts are) and a lot of durian fruit stalls and restaurants on Beach Street , which is within 8min walk. Little India is within 5min walk.
The receptionist who checked us in was a bit blunt. She could have a bit more friendly and helpful. She didn’t smile at all, when we got there early and asked if the room would be available for us earlier. She replied they’ll do their best to make it available at 3, they can’t guarantee it, 3 is their normal check in time anyway.
Breakfast was exceptional, so many options. Location was perfect for us as it was easy walking distance from the ferry.
The door lock stopped working 3 times, though this was fixed quickly each time.

The breakfast had lots of choice for Asian people but not so good for western people Great to have a gym would be lovely if there was a bit more equipment.
The room was clean. Toilet and bathroom separated.
The mattress is too soft and I think is not a hotel standard

One minor personal point is the mattress is not hard enough for me.
