Will mehr sein, als es ist.
Pros:

Top Lage am Jardim Municipal und an der Avenida Arriaga. Schöne Dachterasse mit günstigem und gutem Restaurant. Das Personal war freundlich.

Cons:

Unser Zimmer war gefühlt ein dunkler Schuhkarton mit Fenster zum Innenhof und Gang, super stickig und dunkel - für den Preis kann man mehr erwarten. Es war als Familienzimmer deklariert - hätte man die Couch ausgeklappt hätte man sich aber nicht mehr im Zimmer bewegen können. Die Kofferablage war durch einen alten lauten Kühlschrank mit Rost innendrin belegt. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ausbaufähig und der Frühstücksraum hat Kantinenflair. Der Safe kostet 5 Euro am Tag - eine Frechheit!

Great Roof Terrace
Pros:

The hotel is in a nice location and central. The roof terrace is excellent. Compact but relaxed and functioned really well. A USP. A bar selling food and drink throughout the day is a real bonus. The Hotel Manager listened well when I had to raise some admin concerns and she was a great person to speak with in general. When I asked the maid for help, she too was very friendly. My room at the back was a nice size and had a ‘characterful view’, some interesting sights and happenings on the road below! Due to some work going on in the building, it was a bit noisy and messy but it wasn’t of any real matter, we got filtered water and a very nice sweet on arrival to compensate.

Cons:

Not all staff appeared to be enjoying their work, particularly in catering and reception. The hotel had a data breach after I booked and subsequently I received around 25-30 payment request spams supposedly from the hotel stating personal details and booking dates. However, no one actually seemed cared that my data was breached and that I had had to deal with these messages and keep blocking them. Booking.com didn’t reply either when I notified them. My flight was cancelled so I had to stay longer in Funchal. I stayed in another 3* hotel. Although the rooftop area did not compare and a few other bits were definitely not as good, overall I have to say their breakfast, staff’s friendliness, receptiveness and professionalism throughout, made for a better stay.

A great stay in an excellent location!
Pros:

I really liked the staff! The reception team was very friendly and helpful. The receptionist spoke English and German very well. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but it was clean and comfortable, with plenty of wardrobe space. It was also quiet at night. The location was excellent!

Cons:

The breakfast could definitely be improved. It’s served as a buffet, but the selection is quite basic. The juice smelled strange, and the coffee didn’t taste very good. The rooms and facilities are also outdated.

Ripped off by outrageous additional booking charges.
Pros:

Their website leads you to believe that you'r booking directly from the website and gives a stated rate. You are redirected to "Guest reservations" which added over CAD$200 worth of services charges to my booking.

L'extrême disponibilité et serviabilité du personnel, tant par message, qu'à la réception et le personnel de ménage, leur amabilité et sourires continus

Pouvoir déposer les bagages avant checkin et après checkout

D'avoir une chambre twin, donc devoir dormir dans un lit simple au regard du prix
