I can't say enough about this hotel. Even though it's an older property, it's very well maintained and the rooms are more comfortable than many of the newer hotels. The breakfast crew does an outstanding job in the beautiful dining room, with freshly prepared hot breakfast food and a large variety of options for dietary needs. The staff (shoutout to Chris) was super accommodating, welcoming and on top of everything. I just don't experience this kind of service elsewhere, so it is a place I'll keep going back to when I'm in the area. They know the meaning of hospitality!
Staff cleaness and property was great
Pool was clean and staff was amazing
I loved the pool and the staff was very nice and the food was great especially breakfast
I feel like the furniture coulve been better in the king size rooms
Hotel is clean. Disappointed that when we made reservation with THE BEST WESTERN they told us that there was two restaurants on property. Last time we stayed there it was a first class hotel and amazing fine dining restaurant. When we arrived to check in, there is NO restaurant at all and many of the outstanding features that the hotel had at one time are gone. When I called the BEST WESTERN CUSTOMER SERVICE they said "oops guess the hotel doesn't update its info." Seems like a minor issue but I am recovering from an injury and can't walk far. Downtown parking is very limited. Aside from not having what they advertise, the hotel was fine.
Very clean, beds were comfortable and very close to the Kirby Center
I recently stayed for several nights at Genettis Best Western Hotel in WilkesBarre, PA. My daughter had just delivered my first grandchild last week…
I must say I was very impressed with my stay in every way! Check in was smooth, Harold took care of this process. He also made it a point to ask me anytime we made eye contact throughout my stay if my room was up to my expectations. A King size bed as I had requested. Incidentally, it was very much so! The room was a nice size and very clean, the mattress was very comfortable and room temperature was perfect! The bed had quite a selection of pillows to choose from so I had no problem finding that perfect one! There was plenty of ice in the ice machines.
I even had the opportunity to use the pool twice! Very nice I must say… clean, perfect temperature and the pool area was tastefully landscaped.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding and have to say I was very impressed with Lisa, the manager and chef of the restaurant really spoils everyone! She is such an awesome asset to the restaurant!
I even had the opportunity to meet and have a conversation with Mr Gus Genetti himself. I couldn’t help but notice his enthusiasm for pleasing his guests.
I will definitely be looking forward to my next return visit, hopefully very soon!
The staff was cordial and very professional and efficient. The hotel was easy to find. The breakfast was well cooked and served. The bed was comfortable.
The facility in general is looking rundown. There was a piece broken out of the wall panel in the elevator. The cabinet in my room that houses the fridge and microwave, etc. was rotting away at the base. The carpets look a bit shabby. All the paint is looking old and dingy and maybe that shade of yellow is a mistake. The staff did really well with what they have to work with but the general presentation of the hotel is, as I said, rundown. The tile work seems new and looks good but apart from that, I don't think anything has been renovated in a very long time.
Great location walking distance to many restaurants. A bit old but clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet and breakfast ok. Parking was easy and overall it was a good value.
It is an older hotel with a tiny bathroom. Otherwise everything was fine and I would stay there again.
Friendly staff, easy pre check-in, clean room, comfortable pillows and bed, good early breakfast, helpful nice hostess. Great value.
Someone scratched our new vehicle while parked in their parking lot. In the City Center, a bit noisy late at night outside.
Breakfast was very limited and little to no variety
Beef up breakfast menu
it was great
Staff were friendly and helpful
It was a little pricey, but that was due to the excellent performer at the Kirby Theater.
