Very friendly, accommodating, walking distance to the beach, good nightlife vicinity in walking distance and has lots of places to eat.

The little room had the potential to be a nice place. The owner ordered us an uber, and was very nice. Very close to the beach. The mattress was awful. I woke up with a back ache. Also there was no hot water in the shower. Even in the caribbean, a cold shower sucks.

Nice, comfortable place in a great neighborhood with lots of terrific resterants. Beach is close and fun. Could use some towel bars in the bathroom but otherwise a great stay.

Worst Experience of the Trip, Stay AWAY!!. First let me start by saying that I do not know how this hotel has any positive ratings. We paid $140 per night which is a robbery when expecting a room like advertised. Original room we were checked in to was the size of a single bedroom. Maybe 3 feet space from the bed on each side and then a small bathroom, super tiny. Room not finished like advertised and zero nice tiles in the whole room or bathroom. That was not the worst of it. They called us to ask our arrival time, you would expect they would clean the room. But when entering the room we saw a lock of hair on the floor. Pointed it out to the manager he apologized. When we walked in to the bathroom, there was big cockroach in there, which I had to kill. We were ready to leave on the spot. The manager tried to show us a better room, we looked at two more and both of them were not finished like in the pictures advertised. This was late at night around 8pm, we decided to stay one night at the bigger room he showed us and requested a refund for the next two nights we would not be staying for. The manager talked to his boss and said that is fine. Let me say that staying even one night was a mistake. As we woke up with bed bug bites and on top of that the manager said in the morning that they would not be refunding our $280 for the two nights we will not be staying for. Please stay clear of this place and look elsewhere. The location is not great either, graffiti on the corner buil

The Mont Caribe was a short cab ride from the airport, and it was in a quiet section of Ocean Park. It was a short walk to a lovely beaches, and there were a many restaurants just a stroll away. We enjoyed the Puerto Rican culinary experience at Bebo's Cafe. Our room was comfortable in all respects. By far the most exceptional aspect of our staff was the incredibly warm and helpful service from Eric, who was the man on duty when we arrived at about 5:30 pm on a Saturday. He helped with our luggage, got us settled in, chatted about local music. When we asked about places to eat nearby, he not only advised us, he drove us to the restaurant!

I would say their service was great. The location is accessible and there are great restaurants very close to the guest house.

The Mont Caribe Guesthouse is in a very convenient location in Ocean Park, Puerto Rico. The Guesthouse staff had informed us of the effects of Hurricane Maria on the property and we were shocked to see how well they were able to rebuild/renovate and maintain a positive outlook after such a storm. The unit was a basic room with modern styling, and included Satellite TV, a room safe, and mini-fridge. WiFi was not the best while in the room, but worked perfect in the lobby and in front of the unit. The only complaint I have is the shower's water pressure, but this is very common in Puerto Rico (and USVI) as there are active environmental conservation efforts in place by many businesses and homeowners. We will be back!

Our Guesthouse stay before and after our cruise was a pleasant experience. The location would be a great place to spend more time. The close proximity to the beautiful beach is a big plus. There are many local (delicious) restaurants nearby (walking distance) in addition to a McDonalds and Walgreens. The staff was excellent and very attentive. We felt very safe walking around the area. Remember to tell your taxi driver the Guesthouse is in the Ocean Park area of San Juan. We would definitely stay here again!!

Staff was so friendly! Bed was wonderful. Very clean. Water pressure and availability of hot water could be better. Good location.

I was there shortly after Hurricane Maria and stayed here for a month. The staff did everything they could to make my stay as enjoyable as possible given that electricity had to be provided by generators.

The rooms are a nice size with nice amenities like fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The AC will chill your bones if you want it.

Great location walking distance to some very nice restaurants and there is a 24 our Walgreens a block away. The beach is a 8 minute walk, and a very nice beach it is.

I highly recommend Mont Caribe.

Beach was close by, shopping, banks, restaurants, laundromat and grocery stores less than a block away.
The staff was accommodating and sweet! So polite.

If your the person that's likes big hotels then this place is not for you. If you want to know and meet the people that live here this is your place. Had a Great time here. They were remoderling. So I hope its done next time ,cant wait to it finched

Overall it was a decent stay. I enjoyed the stroll to the beach. The local restaurants were also great. I was expecting a hotel with the common amenities. This is more of a guesthouse/ hostel. I would stay again, after renovations.

Pros- 5 minute walk from the beach, comfortable beds, in a local neighborhood, surrounded by places to eat. Easy to catch an Uber, most trips are under $10. Easy check in. 24 hour Walgreens on the next street. Quiet and it smelled good.

Cons- doesn't offer wash cloths, in the middle of renovations, they do not have staff 24/7, no ice machine or vending machine. No central air, one window unit in bedroom. If you want maid service ($20) or fresh linen ($10) you pay per service.

When I arrived at my room there was no AC and no windows to let any air in. The manager of the property did not have anyone to help with this issue at my time of arrival. As a result, I did not stay at the Mont Caribe. I did recieve great service from Brandon, the manager, about a refund. He processed the refund swiftly and I received it within 2 business days. I hope to stay here in the future when the renovations of the property are complete.

The roof leaked, the lock kept nearly coming off, there was no hot water, construction on the apartment had decibel levels to prohibit activities (sleeping, conversation, relaxation, etc) on-site from the hours of 7:30am-6pm, the main gate didn't actually lock, and the only mosquitos we encountered on our full week trip made residence inside the apartment.

The only positive about this place is the location. Near to a lot of good restaurants and a beach.

If all you need is a place to store your stuff, this will work. Otherwise, find any better place. Even if so, there are cheaper and more secure places to keep your crap while you enjoy San Juan.

PS No ceiling fans or central AC.
