Santascabinas

The hotel is not as advertised. It is not beachfront as the misleading photos show. There was no Internet and the TV did not work ( noblesse obliges, we got a discount for this, but we had to work online and we couldn’t). The cabins have a very nice layout and a beautiful patio with tables and chairs but everything is old, worn out and dirty. I would not return. There are much better places for the same money.

If you want a taste of life in Playa Santa Teresa, this is a great spot. In the middle of everything but tucked away in its own bit of jungle.

Felt secluded while in the midst of everything we needed

Location was perfect super short walk to Teresa beach. Pool at the cabinas was just a wadding pool. Had three items go missing, back of green, my girlfriends swim suit bottom, and a Garmin Vivo Active watch. Total loss = $350. Otherwise the place was nice, cleaning staff could have done a better job making the rooms, but the veranda and kitchenette were very nice to relax and make dinner in the evenings. If they had a night security guard like all the other places I would highly recommend, still recommend but lock your door even if just going to the pool.

Tiene buena ubicación y están limpias pero son muy muy básicas! No me hospedaría de nuevo! Y muy calientes, el aire acondicionado no sirvió , y las cortinas no protegían de la luz excesiva

Hotel war nicht am Strand, aber im der 2. reihe, gerade neben der lärmenden Strasse.
Aber sehr charmant.

Santa Teresa is beautiful and the cabina we had was great. They are on the beach and it was a memorible time.

Right by the beach, the beachfront restaurant and walking distance to the grocery store and banks. We were looking for a place that was original and felt like Santa Teresa and this was it. Pia and Amanda were very helpful; helped us to organize surf lessons, atv rental, directions to Playa Hermosa and Montezuma as well as a helping us book a flight to San Jose as well as a car rental to go to Tamarindo! You could tell that they just wanted you to have a good time and would support you to make that happen even when they weren't directly benefiting..... that's true help! It was a completely relaxed and cool vibe!

The beach and pool are great here but this is not Costa Rica.If you are looking for a peaceful, calm surrounded by wildflie vacation your are looking at the wrong place. I did not come here to hear ATV, motorcylces and traffic everytime I went to our cabin.It was very loud and disruptive. We had room #7 and could hear every footstep from the people on top of us as well. A/C worked well. The set-up has great potential but the room locations right by the road are horrendous. It would be so much better if it was closer to the beaches. We actually had to ask for our money back and skip out a day earlier because we did not like this town or location. This is a surfing, hippie town that's overpriced and has chased out all of the locals. There are no Costa Ricans left here and the town has been wrecked in our opinion. There were no fruit stands or locals selling anything just some people selling overpriced wilted fruits and vegetables that people were going crazy for. Beaches are great for surfing and the views are amazing but the town and room location ruin it.
Next time we will keep driving past this town and not look back. There are so many other places in Costa Rica that offer more.
I do want to add that the ladies running Santascabinas, Pia and Amanda were very, very helpful and understanding. They were available and responsive and we had issues with our toilet and shower and they were on it immediately. They were not on site but just across the street but available by e-mai

Great value for your money. We loved our cabin - great location right near the beach, and beautiful scenery. The room itself was nothing special - bed was quite uncomfortable and shower did not work but I would still recommend it just based on location.

Facility was poorly maintained
Although advertising a 9 am check in time there was no one to greet us when we arrived before noon
Thriving local children were seen on hotel grounds need for more security

No hay recepcion y no hay quien responda el teléfono, nos perdimos y tuvimos que hacer muchas llamadas para al fin obtener respuesta.

PROS - Location was excellent in regards to the closeness to the beach. A/C and safe in the room. Private shower. Nice pool. Beach area was very nice. Had hammocks and lounge chairs.

CONS - No wifi in the rooms. Spotty wifi near the beach. Restaurant is expensive and service is very slow (we were only ones there. Said they opened at 9 am but no one could serve us until after 10 am). If you have young kids, there is no kids menu. Expedia does not charge you. You have to pay cash when you arrive. They also charged us $40 extra dollars in various fees per night.

Reception closes al 5pm, finding the manager by phone is mission impossible most of the times and you can only pay cash or by deposit.
Rooms are ok, no complaints there except for the fact that we were 3, but only two towels and the reception area is usually unattended.
Be ready to take cash because most of the restaurants don't take credit cards.
Wi-fi only works if you are near the front desk.

Nous sommes restés 3 nuits à Santas Cabinas. dans un haut de duplex (Le Mona No. 104). Il y a un joli balcon et beaucoup de végétation, une grande piscine et l'accès à une plage ( rocheuse) est à 60 mètres. L'intérieur est petit et sombre.En plein jour une lampe de poche nous était nécessaire pour trouver un vêtement dans nos valises.Par contre le lit était confortable et la clim.fonctionnait bien . Comme le duplex est à 5 mètres de la route c'est très bruyant.On a dû payer cash dès notre arrivée et avons dû réclamer un reçu au départ.Réservé du Canada (via Expédia) la jeune Pia, qui gère la section Santas Cabinas avait annulée notre réservation de son propre chef . Nous n'avions pas lu son mail écrit 2 jours avant notre départ pour le Costa Rica exigeant le dépôt par Paypal seulement .( Une astuce pour éviter de payer la cote-part d'Expédia tout en profitant de visibilité. Nous avons demandé le 2 ième jour de changer de chambre pour un Bungalow plus grand que nous a montré un au des hôtes ( Andrew)Mais Pia à qui nous avions déjà réglé nos trois nuits en argent sonnant nous a dit qu'elle ne nous remettait pas les sommes payées pour le 2 nuits restantes et qu'il fallait payer à nouveau une occupation d'un bungalow ( plus cher) puisque le bungalow appartenait à un autre co-proprio.Nous avions pêché un thon jaune laissé au frigo pour la femme de chambre selon les conseils d'Andrew. Curieusement Andrew se dirigeait vers l'allée du 104 lorsque nous quittions les lieux.

Friendly staff, beautiful location, spacious room.

Det var ingen bra service, dem var väldigt stressad att få allt betalat och efter det så brydde dem sig inte mycket, men dem ligger perfekt, men för det priset man betalade var det inte värt det. För en eller några nätter funkar det, men vi bodde där i 3 veckor.
