Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Yama Hotel Phuket, and the hospitality was generally good. Staff members like Pui and Aom were especially friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made my stay more enjoyable.
However, there are a few areas that need improvement.
First, I noticed some cleanliness issues. The toilet could have been cleaned more thoroughly, and on some days it seemed that the bedsheets were not changed.
I also had an issue with the swimming pool hot water. Throughout most of my stay, the hot water worked perfectly. However, on the last day, I asked a staff member named Pich to turn it on because the water was cold. He told me it was due to the weather changing, but I don’t think that was a reasonable explanation since pool water is heated by a heater, not by the weather. I would have appreciated a clearer and more honest response.
Another disappointing experience happened during check-out at around 7:30 a.m. A female staff member told me that one KitKat was missing from the minibar. It wasn’t the question itself that bothered me, but the way she spoke to me felt rude and accusatory. During my stay, I spent around THB 8,000 on food and beverages at the hotel, so it was disappointing to be treated that way over a single chocolate. In any case, there was no KitKat in my room.
Despite these issues, I had a pleasant stay overall. The hotel has a nice atmosphere, and most of the staff were kind and professional. I hope the management pays more attention to housekeeping standards, staff communication, and customer service during check-out, as these improvements would make the guest experience even better.
