Absolutely amazing, friendly, clean, and located perfectly for everything in Bardolino. Forget your need for all inclusive 5 star resorts, stay here and feel part of the family, will definitely be booking to come back here, a nicer place you’ll never find
We stayed here at the start of May 2025. It was our first visit to Bardolino and our first stay in a 2 star hotel but it won’t be our last. The Marina hotel is perfect with wonderful hosts supported by equally wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and a small issue with our safe was solved instantly. Every time we left or returned to the hotel we were greeted with smiles and felt as if we were welcomed into their home every time.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Bathroom is well ventilated and has a very powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Our room was to the front of the hotel with a large balcony and all the entertainment that a main road in Italy can provide. We often bought a bottle of the local wine and watched all the antics on the road. Yes it could be noisy but with the shutters down and a comfortable bed we slept without any worries. Next time we visit we will however get a room on the back of the hotel as the afternoon and evening sun will be on the balcony for an evening refreshment.
Bardolino is a short walk away with lots of lovely shops, restaurants nand bars with the best pizzas we have ever eaten and the best lasagne ever. I have been banned from making lasagne again but I’m not sure that will last forever. We took the water taxi to Sirmione, very busy and very touristy but worth a visit. We also walked to Garda where we had some wonderful gelato and a focaccia for lunch.
The pace of life in Bardolino was so slow that at times we felt that time had stopped and just stood still. As said at the start this was our first visit but it won’t be our last. The Hotel Marina is a perfect place to stay to enjoy all the delights of this area. We can’t recommend the hotel highly enough.
Grazie mille tornoremo presto
we stayed at Hotel Marina from 21st May to 28th May 2025 . Hotel staff are amazing and so friendly . lovely breakfast is available.the location of the hotel is a 5 minute walk right to the central of bardolino where the views are amazing . plenty of shops bars restaurants and there you can get the ferry to beautiful places such as lake garda. highly recommend this hotel when you visit beautiful bardolino 🇮🇹
We had a lovely time at Hotel Marina. It is a small hotel but very nice. It’s very clean and the owners and staff are lovely (grazie Giampiero). Our en suite bedroom was a good size with a small balcony (and a free safe in the wardrobe) and the hotel has free Wi-Fi throughout. We enjoyed our daily continental breakfast which was a nice start to the day.
The hotel is on a main road but we weren’t bothered with the road noise due to the double glazing and shutter if you wanted to use it. It’s in an excellent location, less than 5 minutes into the main part of Bardolino and a further few minutes to the ferry.
We had some medication with us which had to be kept in a refrigerator and the hotel were happy to look after it for us which we appreciated.
On leaving, we had a late flight home and the hotel were happy to look after our suitcases during the day. We were offered use of the facilities which are just off the dining room and they are brilliant. Large bathroom and lovely shower - worth knowing !!
We would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and would happily stay again if we are fortunate to return to Bardolino in the future.
Just spent a week in Marina Hotel.
The owners so friendly and helpful.
The hotel spotlessly clean and rooms cleaned every morning. A lovely fresh breakfast served from 8 to 10 which included coffee, tea, juices, yoghurts, fruit, cereal, eggs, ham, cheeses, jam, toast, rolls and delicious cakes and pastries.
We had a room to the front which is busy but enjoyed watching the buzz from the road on our balcony.
Two minutes from bus station with a tourist information kiosk there too.
A lovely few minutes walk from hotel through cobbled streets or the park to the Lake.
On departure the owner served us a small breakfast at 7am which was very appreciated.
We would definitely return to this hotel and particularly liked the size of this hotel having just 25 rooms.
Only one little thing we missed was a little fridge in our room for chilled drinks but no other complaints at all.
A very basic hotel . Great location , lovely staff who were very helpful. The room very small and difficult for 2 people to navigate The bathroom needed a refurb , water damaged mirror, mouldy and leaky shower door. The shower tiny (we are not big ) toilet seat discoloured. No fridge so couldn’t get a cold water on very hot weather, air con noisy. All in all not what was expected from the pictures or other reviews.
Such a lovely hotel in a great location only a few minutes walk down to the lake. Also a minutes walk from the bus station for busses to other areas of the lake. Lovely room overlooking garden area to the rear. Would recommend getting a rear room as front has a busy road.
The staff here are so nice and friendly from the lady and gentlemen at reception, the girl who helps at breakfast and the room cleaning staff.
Don't be put off thinking it's only 2 star, this is well underrated and should be higher.
Breakfast was continental with breads, rolls, croissants, cold meats, eggs, cereal etc and a good start to the day. You're allocated a table and this will be yours for the whole stay.
Easy nice walks along the lake to Garda one way and Cisano the other way. Ferries on the lake can take you a bit further, we visited peschiria and Sirmione, both beautiful places..
All in all a brilliant stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Unterkunft ok.
We stayed here for a short break and liked this hotel a lot. It had many of the features that are important to us including, very high standards of cleanliness, air conditioning that coped with the abnormally high temperatures, a good strong shower, functioning ventilation in the shower room and a comfortable bed.
The location of the hotel was conveniently on the edge of the old part of town where a short walk through narrow streets lined with interesting shops, bars and restaurants lead down to the lake side.
We found our host to be very welcoming and helpful particularly with our amateurish attempts to speak Italian.
The self service breakfast buffet had a good selection of cold items including cereals, meat and cheese, eggs croissants, cakes and a coffee machine. A small selection of alcoholic beverages was available at reception.
Although dining in was not an option there was a huge selection of restaurants nearby. Likewise, although the hotel does not have a pool, swimming options included the lake, a nearby water park and neighbouring hotel pools available for a fee.
We did find some negative points. Our room overlooked the main road and the Italians seem to love riding their scooters and powerful motorcycles with great exuberance leading to some unwelcome noise. There was no place in the room to stow our suitcases. Whilst not a problem for most people, someone of generous girth may find the small shower enclosure a tight squeeze.
Just back from a wonderful week in Bardolino staying at this great hotel. Ran by John Petre and his family. They are lovely and couldn’t do enough for you! The rooms are modern and have everything you need. Lovely breakfast with freshly baked cakes, croissants etc. Boiled egg and toast a bonus too. 300 mitres walk into the centre. Prices in restaurants reasonable too! Would love to return to this fantastic no frills hotel. Liz and Gerry
Great location, great breakfast, lovely family run hotel in the heart of Bardelino . Rooms clean and adequate . No frills but perfect. We had an older room on the main road side, traffic didn’t bother us and nice to watch the world go by at night on the balcony. Would highly recommend and would return
Thankyou for your hospitality
We stayed for one week at the Hotel Marina and it was fabulous. The couple that own and run the hotel are just lovely and made us feel so welcome. We had a newly refurbished room that was very large and nicely decorated with a small balcony. Fabulous big bathroom with large walk in shower which was beautifully tiled. Good buffet breakfast with cold meats, eggs, cereals, pastries, fruit and lovely home made cakes baked by Nicoletta…..yumm. Location was excellent, just a few minutes walk to the main square and the lake. There was some building works next door which appears to be near to completion. It didn’t bother us at all. We would definitely pick Hotel Marina for our next trip to Lake Garda. Well done and thank you to Giam and Nicoletta for being such welcoming hosts ❤️
Fin service av personalen
Hårda madrasser i sängarna…
Sliten badrumsspegel
Prisvärt och bra läge mitt i Bardolino
Freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, sauber, gute Lage und gutes Frühstück. Mehr braucht man nicht:)
Just back from another lovely week in Lake Garda. Stayed at the Hotel Marina as we knew the area and were looking for a cheaper Hotel break. Staff could not do any more to help - super friendly - Yes its a more basic hotel but has everything you need. The only possible addition I would say would have been a small fridge. There is no pool hence the rating but its literally five minutes walk from the Lake itself. There is currently a building site next door with a crane however work has been suspended for the summer season so this is not an issue despite the TUI advisory. Front of he hotel rooms do get the main road but we were at the rear so it was fine - its not too noisy anyway. Free Parking is available at the hotel for those like us with a hire car - its a little tight but again all fine. The morning breakfasts are great - they tend not to put a lot out but whenever anything is low the plates are immediately refilled - saves waste! All clean and Bardolino itself is right behind the hotel full of shops and restaurants - don't forget the Thursday markets! Again it you are looking for a Hotel stay on Lake Garda but on more of a budget I don't think you could find anywhere better on the whole Lake - Grazie Giampiero and hopefully see you again in 2024!!!
Having spent a lovely week in Bardolino, Lake Garda, I felt compelled to write a review of this beautiful family run hotel. The location is fantastic and leads down into beautiful Bardolino streets, that are full of restaurants and fashionable shops.
The hotel itself is clean, our room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty with fresh produce from croissants, cakes, fruit, meats, cheese, cereal and toast. What makes this hotel worth a review is the friendliness of the owners and staff. Would definitely recommend
Great hotel, friendly owners, lovely breakfast, centrally located.
This is a lovely hotel, reasonable, rooms are clean and comfortable. Ours was at the back with a balcony. Great location, a few minutes to centre.
Lovely warm welcome from hosts who speak good English and couldn’t have been more helpful. Would recommend.
Please be aware "heavy Machinery" works being done at a nearby hotel to Marina until March 2024.Tui informed today but not certain when they were aware about it. Only a couple of weeks till my holiday there and not impressed to be told today by Tui. Also Tui offer you to book to another hotel with no amendment fee or you can cancel. All other options on same date are much dearer time off work booked etc. Just be ware people as Tui haven't offeredcompensation.
I don't want to give hotel itself a bad review Tui state hotel and staff will still provide their service. I just want to earn people as holiday is still advertised with no reduction despite Tui knowing this information.Operating "heavy machinery" between 9.30 to 12 and again 15.30 to 19.00 not using machinery in weekends.
.
We really enjoyed our stay at Marina Hotel in Bardolino. The staff were very friendly and spoke great English. The room was very clean and spacious with a wonderful, large balcony that overlooked the street with the mountains and a church view in the distance. The balcony is covered so that even when we had torrential rain it was dry with impressive views of the weather.
The location is fantastic, just two streets away from the lakefront (or you can take a stroll through the park next to the hotel) and one away from the town centre. The bus station is just a five minute walk and the ferry is next to the lake. The continental breakfast made a fantastic start to the day (we definitely recommend the apple pie) with a great coffee machine, yogurt and pastries. We loved the Italian charm of the hotel with its neoclassical statues, paintings and jardinières adding a lovely feel to the place.
