Hôtel ancien de style indien. Pas moderne, mais très propre, bien tenu, excellent WiFi sécurisé (vous avez votre propre profil), eau chaude, ventilateur et Airco. Service impeccable, gentillesse, empressement; "ils se couperaient en 4 pour vous". Service de lessive professionnel.
2 petits bémols : la nourriture au resto n'est pas au top, simplement correcte - situé à un carrefour, donc l'environnement est assez bruyant, mais ça, c'est Chennai. Chambres néanmoins très très bien insonorisées.

The hotel was okay. There were two major issues that was very disappointing.
1. We booked two rooms. We reached there around 5 pm. So it was obvious that we were supposed to get both rooms cleaned and ready for use. They gave us only one room and unfortunately told us that the other room is occupied and cannot be given at the moment. We had to wait for till 8 pm (more than 3 hours) to get our designated room which was supposed to be kept ready for use the instant we checked in. This was very embarrassing and disappointing.
2. Next morning, when we finished breakfast, they came and asked for breakfast charges. Whereas it was clearly mentioned in hotels.com booking reference that the breakfast was FREE. Another insult to us when they kept asking for money. Although we refused to give money but it was very unprecedented. They later told us that it was a mistake from hotels.com and the hotel management. But i dont care, this is not very professional. If hotels.com we made booking, they were supposed to keep everything informed and in line. Insulting a guest is absolutely not the way. Very very disappointed and will be saying bad about this hotel everywhere so that people know how they treat guests, especially who comes from another country.
Okay. I would ask you to do the necessary to put up the information in the website about couples staying at your place. Nothing was mentioned and when we reached after tiring journey you guys said unmarried couples not allowed. That was a very bad thing and experience.
I booked for 2 separate beds, when I arrived was only 1 bed and they couldn't do anything.i have send message few times about my petición. It was confirm like a separate beds

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel. All the staff were courteous and made our stay very comfortable and pleasant. The location is ideal. Loved the grounds...very clean and well maintained. The breakfast everyday was simple but fresh and tasty. Restaurant serves tasty food. Room service and other requests were handked promptly. Would surely stay again on my next visit. A shout out to Ranjit and Jeeva and all the staff....jeep it up.
Raj Palace Sundar was a convenient and very pleasant stay for the three weeks in Chennai. It was a few minutes walk to the place of my study. All members of the staff, especially the reception and Jeeva were kind and helpful.They went out of their way to make my stay most welcome and comfortable. I hope to make it a base for my return next February.
Very very bad hotel please don't take this hotel
Not worth for the money paid. Toilet commode and pipe fittings need immediate replacement.Toilet flooring and wall pianting need to be improvised. Bed matress is really good . Wish to see a better breakfast menu.

It was a short 4 day trip for a conference. Booking and arrival was smooth - most drivers know the place. Check-in and courtesy of staff was good.
Pros: well-known, decent hospitality, very aptly priced, basic amenities (toiletries, tea-coffee maker, mini-bar, TV, wi-fi) provided, rooms are spacious and clean.
Cons: very noisy and cluttered neighborhood, middle of nowhere (all shopping / tourist areas are on either side, not nearby), restaurant downstairs is pathetic both in food and in service, spa is the worst I've ever seen (dirty, stinky, and shady). The most painful part was wi-fi speed - even gmail takes about 4-5 minutes to load. It was like a net connection of 1990s.
WE STAYED FOR FIVE DAYS ,HAD A PLEASANT STAY WITH FAMILY,GOOD QUIET AMBIENCE DESPITE THE HEAVY TRAFFIC OUTSIDE.FOOD IS TASTY WITH SOUTH INDIAN BREAKFAST.THERE ARE FEW SHORT COMINGS LIKE 1,THE COTS ARE NOT STABLE IF YOU LEAN BACK IT SLIDES FORWARD , 2.NO TISSUE KEPT IN THE ROOMS.STAFF ARE PLEASANT BUT THEY STILL CAN BE GROOMED TO MATCH THE LARGER STAR HOTELS AS IT DOES NOT COST ANYTHING TO BE MORE PLEASANT.WE HAD A SMALL FAMILY GET TOGETHER, EVERY ONE ENJOYED THE FOOD , SPECIALLY THE BRIYANI!THE STAFF WERE VERY COOPERATIVE.A SPONTANEOUS SMILE FROM ALL STAFF WILL MAKE THE ATMOSPHERE MORE FRIENDLY! HOPE THEY SMILE! WE CHECKED IN AROUND 11.30 PM STRAIGHT FROM THE AIRPORT, THE RECEPTION WAS NOT APPRECIABLE THE PERSON AT THE RECEPTION WAS NOT TRAINED TO RECEIVE THE GUESTS PROPERLY , HIS FIRST WORDS WERE " WHY YOU ARE COMING SO LATE EVEN IF YOU WERE BOOKED ? " THATS IS SOMETHING UNHEALTHY WAY OF RECEIVING GUESTS , THE FIRST IMPRESSION MADE US TO FLINCH OUR FACE OR WOULD HAVE ANYBODY'S.
