Amazing place this was a great hotel. The people were really friendly. You definitely want to stay here and it's a great location.
Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Many options including à la carte custom made. Rooms immaculate and beds very comfortable.
I had a wonderful stay at La Siesta Classic Ma May in Hanoi. The location in the Old Quarter is perfect for exploring, and everything is within walking distance.
The room was spotless, comfortable, and nicely designed. Breakfast was fresh and varied. What really made the stay special was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it.
Location was ideal and within the Old Quarter neighbourhood. Quiet escape from the city at the end of the day. The room itself was spacious, and the executive suite had floor to ceiling windows that let in natural sunlight. Overall it was a comfortable stay at a well-maintained establishment
Great location, amenities, and staff! Was really happy with this hotel, they have everything and the staff, especially An Le, were really friendly and accommodating. Location was very central and easy to locate, near a lot of restos.
Excellent location, very clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff. Nice value for money.
We stayed for three nights in February 2026 at La Siesta Classic Ma May, and it was truly one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we’ve had.
>> Arrival & First Impressions:
Due to our flight schedule, we arrived very early in the morning, well before check-in time. As first-time visitors to Hanoi, we had no particular expectations. However, from the moment we stepped out of our car, the service was exceptional. A senior guest service attendant warmly confirmed our booking, and our luggage was immediately handled with care and efficiency — we genuinely felt welcomed and valued.
We were invited to sit in the hotel restaurant while waiting. The team thoughtfully served hot ginger tea, dried sweetened ginger, jujube, and warm face towels — a small but meaningful gesture that was perfect after our early dawn flight. We arrived exhausted, but their hospitality instantly made us feel refreshed.
Shortly after, Ms. Ann Le from the concierge team personally greeted us at our table. She introduced herself warmly, asked about our well-being, and inquired about our travel plans so she could offer local recommendations. What stood out most was her proactive approach — she offered early check-in subject to availability. Considering we were visiting during Tet, when the airport and city were extremely busy, we were sincerely grateful that one of our two rooms was ready early. It allowed us to rest immediately after a tiring journey.
>> Location – Ideal for Exploring Hanoi:
The hotel’s location in the Old Quarter is excellent. It is:
Approximately a 3-minute walk to Cafe Giang, famous for its egg coffee
About 5 minutes from Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre
Just a short stroll to Hoàn Kiếm Lake
Everything we wanted to explore was easily accessible on foot, making our stay very convenient.
>> Breakfast & Overall Ambiance:
The lobby consistently smelled fresh and inviting, creating a pleasant first impression each time we entered. The breakfast area was spacious compared to other boutique hotels we had considered.
The buffet offered a well-curated selection, including rice, stir-fried vegetables, pasta with white sauce and cheese, baked beans, sushi, fresh salads, yogurt panna cotta, fruits, and a wide variety of beverages. Vietnamese coffee and hot tea were readily available, and iced Vietnamese coffee could be requested from the staff — another thoughtful touch.
>> Cleanliness – Our Main Priority:
We traveled during Tet, which made hotel selection more challenging. After reading several reviews of other properties mentioning unpleasant bathroom odors or cleanliness issues, we made this our top priority.
I always check the bathroom first when entering a room — and I was very pleased. It was spotless, odor-free, and meticulously maintained. There were no signs of previous guests, and the linens were clean and fresh-smelling. In fact, the absence of negative bathroom reviews was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel — and it absolutely met our expectations.
>> Final Thoughts:
We are a group of friends who typically choose budget accommodations. For this trip, we extended our budget slightly to ensure comfort. What we experienced, however, felt far more luxurious than expected.
The combination of attentive service, excellent cleanliness standards, and prime location makes this hotel truly outstanding value for money. We would not hesitate to return and confidently recommend it to fellow travelers visiting Hanoi.
We recently stayed at La Siesta Classic Ma May in Hanoi, Vietnam, and it was truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had.
We booked two rooms for two nights, then later one room for three and one room for two again for one night, and throughout all those stays, the service was consistently exceptional.
From the very moment our taxi stopped in front of the hotel, we already felt taken care of. A staff member immediately assisted with our luggage before we even stepped inside. The front desk happened to be quite chaotic at the time because a large group was checking out, but instead of letting us wait in line, they graciously ushered us to a table, offered refreshments, and comfortably seated us while they processed our reservation details. That level of thoughtfulness made such a strong first impression.
A very special mention goes to Ngoc An ( we know her as An Le), who felt like the dedicated coordinator for our entire group. She was absolutely amazing. She helped us book a water puppet show, arrange massage reservations, and gave us fantastic recommendations for pho, banh mi, coffee spots, and even where to shop for traditional Vietnamese clothing. She was incredibly responsive—I honestly don’t know how she managed to reply so quickly every time! She made our trip so much easier and more memorable. She is truly a superstar and a huge asset to the hotel.
We were also impressed by how flexible and accommodating the hotel was with check-ins. On our first stay, we arrived at 9 AM even though standard check-in was at 2 PM, and they kindly allowed us to check in early at no extra charge. On our second stay, we arrived from Sapa around 5 AM. They offered an early check-in option with a fee, which we gladly accepted—and to our surprise, they even upgraded our room. After an overnight journey, that comfort meant so much to us.
The breakfast was delicious with a great variety. On our last day, since we were checking out at night and wouldn’t be able to enjoy breakfast the next morning, we asked if we could have it the day before instead—and they allowed it without hesitation. That kind of flexibility is rare and deeply appreciated.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very cozy. Having Netflix available was definitely a plus, especially for relaxing after long days of exploring the city. To top it all off, the hotel is in Old Quarter - where all the magic happens.
Overall, this is a truly excellent hotel with superb staff who go above and beyond for their guests. If we ever find ourselves back in Vietnam, this will absolutely be our hotel of choice again.
Highly recommended!
How can I start. La Siesta Ma May felt comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. Jun familiarized us with the hotel and area. From the beginning she looked after our every need. It’s the little things that count for us and Jun took care of it all. From arranging rides, helping with flight plans to even walking me to the best barber - we could count on her. Furthermore she made us feel like family.
The amenities were fantastic and well located in the heart of Old Quarter Hanoi. Everything was a short walk away.
We took advantage of the Spa and enjoyed it immensely. The roof top bar was the perfect place to end each day.
We will definitely stay again. Thank you to all the service staff and of course to our new friend Jun.
nice ambious La Siesta Classic Ma May Hanoi Hotel
94 Ma May Str.
Hoan Kiem, Vietnam
We had the best time at La Siesta Ma May and were wonderfully taken care of by lovely Ann. She helped us with recommendations, bookings and advice. She was always around to help us and really made the trip so special. We cannot recommend enough.
Fantastic hotel who really pulled out all the stops. Ann was amazing and had some great suggestions on places to go and was so helpful with booking experiences and restaurants, all of which were really great. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend
A gem of a hotel in the middle of a chaotic old town. The staff are wonderful and helpful and at the same time professional. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choice. But the best part is that it is close to everything
Superbly located central hotel We stayed here for 4 nights on our tour of Vietnam the staff were amazing most helpful and friendly. All food was excellent in the restaurant we ate à la carte twice and couldn’t fault it. Cocktail on the roof bar with happy hour were very well made. Rooms and facilities very good and very clean. If we go back to Hà Nội we would most definitely stay here again. A special thanks for making or arrival and decorating our bed for our 50th wedding anniversary.
My wife and I had an amazIng experience at La Siesta Ma May hotel. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel incredibly welcome. At check in we were given ginger tea and dried fruits which were lovely after a long flight. At reception, Ann Lee looked after our every need, advising on trips and activities, booking restaurants for us and helping us with our cruise on Ha Long bay. She was truly amazing. In addition, our room was beautiful and breakfast was very good. Look no further than this hotel when you visit Hanoi.
Our third stay at La Siesta and even though it was just overnight it was such a better option than staying near the airport. As always the staff the breakfast the location was brilliant, especially for a brief “hit” of the Old Quarter.
We were even offered a complimentary upgrade which was really appreciated.
Thanks to the La Siesta Team for making us feel at home!
"Our stay at La Siesta Classic Ma May in the heart of the Old Quarter was nothing short of perfection. We were here celebrating my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary, and the hospitality we received made the occasion feel truly extraordinary.
A huge shout-out to Jun, who took such special care of us throughout our stay. Just before our trip, my brother unfortunately fractured his foot, and with my father also having trouble walking, we had significant mobility concerns. Jun was incredibly accommodating and empathetic, handling our request to change rooms mid-stay to ensure they were both comfortable and easily accessible.
That level of care and flexibility turned what could have been a stressful situation into a seamless, beautiful celebration. If you are planning a trip to Hanoi, staying at La Siesta Classic Ma May is absolutely worthwhile. The service is world-class and deeply personal. Highly recommended!"
We had a truly wonderful stay at La Siesta Ma May in Hanoi. The service was truly exceptional from all of the staff but Jun deserves a special mention for going out of her out of her way to make us feel welcome (at home, even). We will certainly be back the next time we visit Hanoi.
Had a VERY comfortable night (beds are wonderful) - couldn’t figure out how to switch the light off under the sink, but that didn’t disturb us. I think they may have upgraded us, the room was lovely and spacious. There was one amazing lady on reception who couldn’t do enough to help, the others varied between great and a bit lacklustre! When they say breakfast finishes at ten, they mean that everything will be cleared away by ten, so get there at 9:30 latest!
We would recommend it to friends from a location and comfort perspective.
I spent my final night in Hanoi here and it was the perfect, relaxing end to my trip. The hotel has a lovely, warm atmosphere that offers a welcome contrast to the hectic Old Quarter. All the staff were equally warm and welcoming from the moment upon arrival, from taking my bags, offering me fruit and tea while I waited in the lobby and being extremely pleasant to interact with. They upgraded me to an incredibly beautiful, large room that had a balcony and view of the Old Quarter below that made my stay even better. The restaurant offers delicious Vietnamese food and they also have a really nice sky bar where you can spend the evening relaxing. A big thank you and special mention to An, whom I have had the pleasure of being welcomed by on many occasions during my trips to Hanoi over the past few years, and having become good friends with during that time due to her constant warmth and kindness. She is exceptional and she always goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome. Thank you for the welcome gift, and the departing gift that you arranged for me, again. I truly appreciate the kind gesture and I will return to stay with you again soon.
