We had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Siesta Classic Ma May in Hanoi! We had originally booked a junior suite, but to our pleasant surprise, we were upgraded to a family suite — and what an upgrade it was! It felt more like a spacious two-bedroom apartment, with huge rooms and an incredibly large private terrace all to ourselves. It truly made our stay extra special.
The entire hotel was spotlessly clean, which made the experience even more comfortable and reassuring.
The breakfast was another highlight — a fantastic spread with a wide variety of options, including Vietnamese, European, and even Japanese dishes. Every single item we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were extremely courteous, warm, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay.
The rooftop sky bar is an absolute gem — beautifully decorated with incredible, unobstructed views of the entire city. It’s the perfect place to unwind and take in Hanoi from above.
Location is top notch, just steps away from the bustling beer street but tucked in the Ma May street which becomes quieter at night, allowing you a comfortable sleep.
The hotel also has an elevator, which is a big plus in the Old Quarter area. Overall, this is definitely one of the best places to stay in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
We stayed two nights and were looked after from the start with an early check in (10.30am). The room was beautifully appointed, sound proof and the bed so comfortable.
Breakfast was a highlight. Cooked to your liking and a huge array available from the buffet.
June looked after us so well with ATM recommendations and answering any other questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble.
All the staff were of the highest standard and a stay here makes you feel very special.
The hotel is happily situated within walking distance of convenience stores, the lake and all the other must see Hanoi attractions.
I’d highly recommend.
The service levels here are phenomenal! We felt looked after with every potential problem solved in advance. From the moment we booked the communication was friendly and helpful. They helped us book a trip and kept our luggage safe. They even offered a room to freshen up before we headed to the airport.
Breakfast was excellent- the room was clean and comfortable: all in all an excellent stay- but it’s the service and wonderful helpful staff that make it!
Great hotel with friendly and welcoming staff. I particularly have to mention Ann who is so wonderful and helpful. The room was great and the location is perfect for the old town. Would recommend the hotel to anyone
great spot in the heart of the old quarter. Wonderful staff and the La Spa massage is fantastic.
La Siesta is such a great boutique hotel chain in Vietnam
We stayed 4 nights here at La Siesta Classic Ma May and really enjoyed it. The service is outstanding and we felt well taken care of, thanks especially to Ann. The breakfast was fresh and delicious with a variety of options. Our massages at the spa were wonderful and we loved the crew at rooftop bar. We hope to be back to Hanoi one day and will stay here again!
We stayed here for 4 nights and it was excellent. We thoroughly recommend this hotel for anybody visiting Hanoi. It is fantastically located in the old quarter, right in the midst of everything on offer in this city. But our room was so quiet - it was great.
From the moment we walked through the door to when we left, we received outstanding service from every member of staff - we had a welcome tea on arrival which refreshed us after a 12 hour flight and met Jun Dung Nguyen who looked after us throughout our stay . She is the kindest, gentlest and most thoughtful person you could wish to meet and she could not do enough for us.
Breakfast was buffet style and very tasty. We ate once in the Red Bean restaurant and twice enjoyed drinking in the rooftop Moonlight Sky Bar which affords great views of the city.
If you are reading this view in search of a recommendation, don’t delay - just book it
This hotel is easily one of the best hotels I've ever been to - genuinely wonderful at every step. Every little thing looks well thought out for the guest, resulting in more than just a comfortable stay.
The thing that wowed me most was the cleanliness of the room. Not only are they attractive, but the functionality is also incredible. You see, the design is well thought out and the space is used very cleverly, at the same time, the rooms still have the feel of being open and are very relaxing. The bed is super comfy and the sheets, which are of good quality, make you want to stay in bed longer in the morning. The light is well thought out, providing both as a source of warmth and relaxation in the evening and as a bright and practical option when necessary. The amount we paid was affordable and value for money.
Great experience here. They upgraded for free our room also.
The reception staff was so wonderful! Our visit coincided with the height of Tet and the restaurant was short-staffed. We could see how hard everyone was working to make sure the guests were given the best service and we really appreciated all the individual attention they gave to us. The streets were so busy and crazy outside but the hotel and restaurant were so calm and pleasant. Two receptionists even gave us a gift as we were leaving - escorting us to our car and waving goodbye. So sweet!
A lovely oasis of a hotel in the heaving centre of Hanoi's Old Quarter. Great service from a fantastic team of staff.
We stayed here for 3 nights, a family of 4, with two boys age 7 and 10. The hotel was very nice with a great location. All staff were very friendly and helpful but a special mention has to go to Jun who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure our stay was as pleasurable as possible. Our boys loved her and she really made a good and lasting impression. We can highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Hanoi.
we had a wonderful time in siesta ma may, the room was great, nice breakfast but very special was Dung. she made our stay in hanoi fantastic
she put a lot of effort to make it a very good experience. we will miss her kindness and certainly will come back to siesta
Great hotel in the heart of Old Quarter. Great staff. Very clean. Great service.
La Siesta Classic Ma May is my absolute favorite hotel, in my absolute favorite city, in the whole wide world! If I could be anywhere, this would be it. I know that nothing I can say will ever be able to do it justice.
I'm not sure, but I think I've stayed at this location on about a half dozen occasions, and I've stayed at EHG properties many more times over the last ten years. At this point, I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Hanoi. I love everything about this place; the staff, the rooms, the location... the sky bar!
The staff here are absolute professionals, yet they are also warm and personable. They ask about your plans, how your day went, remember your name, your likes and dislikes. They offer suggestions based on what they've picked up on about you, offer tea while you wait for your friends to meet you in the lobby, and sometimes even a sample of something delicious. The level of service here is on par with any of the finest hotels I've ever stayed at, but it never feels stuffy. Vietnamese hospitality is among the best in the world. Here, it's a cut above.
The rooms are quiet and extremely comfortable. Everything is well maintained. The beds are cozy, the bathroom is "western," and the furnishings are stately. You could draw the blinds and have no idea where you are, but all of the excitement of The Old Quarter is right outside.
I don't travel all the way to Vietnam just to eat and drink in my hotel, but I could easily do so here. The breakfast is top notch, with something for everyone. Dinner at Red Bean is also excellent. In fact, it's where my family and I had our first meal in Hanoi on our most recent visit. That says something.
I strongly recommend enjoying your first evening in Hanoi at the rooftop Moonlight Sky Bar, whether you're staying here or not. The view is spectacular, the vibe is chill, and the bartenders are masters at their craft.
If I've learned anything in all my years of traveling, it's that everything can look amazing on the internet, but the reality can often be a disappointment. Reviews can be misleading. Not this place. It's even better! I feel like I've rambled and still not said enough. I know that nothing I can say will ever be able to do it justice, but trust me, this place is wonderful!
Very central location and such a fantastic hotel with welcoming staff and great food. You will be looked after so well here.
Absolutely fantastic hotel . Staff were amazing and so friendly. They couldn’t do enough to help us. Great location and food was really good. Bedrooms are very clean . The best shower… ever !
Special thanks to Jan … hopefully see you all again
Absolutely amazing hotel, staff are fantastic our new friend Dung always on hand to help, she even took me to the pharmacy to help me buy some medicine. She is quite simply brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely fabulous hotel staff so very friendly and Dung (June) was wonderful btw thank you for the lighter❤️ ...location perfect, we really couldn't have had better experience 10 out of 10
This was by far the best experience we could have asked for to start out our honeymoon. The hotel room itself was immaculate. The location was great for going sightseeing in the city. And this was easily the best hotel staff we have ever worked with. Jun, especially went so far above and beyond. She even left us a framed picture with a personalized note from out wedding to help us celebrate our wedding. If you are going to stay anywhere in Hanoi, make sure it is here
