Nilketha Villa Eco Hotel

A notre arrivée, l'hôtelier nous a dit qu'il n'y avait pas de réservation à notre nom, qu'il venait de racheter cet hôtel et que pour pouvoir y dormir, il fallait annuler notre réservation auprès d'hotel.com (ce qui était impossible sans perdre les 60 € déjà payés car il nous demandait une annulation pour le jour même) et qu'ensuite, il fallait le payer en espèces le prix de la chambre (environ 45 €). Sans moyen de contacter Hotel.com car 4h du matin en France, nous avons préféré quitter cet hôtel aux pratiques très douteuses pour en chercher un autre par nous-mêmes et repayer une nuit ! Nous sommes en attente d'un remboursement de la nuit non effectuée dans cet hôtel, d'un montant de 60 €.

L'hôtel est bien placé près du site archéologique et la piscine est agréable.
En revanche, la salle de bains attenante à notre chambre était dans un état pitoyable : sale, avec un évier entièrement bouché, 2 énormes cafards et la porte ne pouvait pas se fermer.

Room was very basic, the hotel needs refurbishment! Air con was a life saver! Food was ok!

Cleanliness of the bedsheets are hopeless. Bathroom mirror has not cleaned for months.

I arrived the hotel around 10pm hotel gate locked....all the lights off.....its very deserted. Even I callelped the hotel mobile number and land number but nobody answered. Later I called the hotels.com hotline and asked them to help me...they told me they will help me to find me another hotel around the same location and they will call me back....but till now they didnt call me.so please trust nilketha or hotels.com both useless.

We are a family of five with three adult daughters and we very much enjoyed our stay. I can summarise by saying we were happy with everything and everyone there, and the location is a good base for visiting Anuradhupura.

Nilketha has a very nice ambience with two large areas for relaxing. Rooms were very clean with air-conditioning and fans. The pool is very nice and refreshing after a long day and our three daughters felt comfortable in their bathers - unlike some places.
Great sunset view from our little balcony to see silhouette of a nearby dagoba. Another lovely view from upstairs communal lounge area.
All staff were nice with 'Senna' exceptional. They are happy to give you space or interact.

Uncleaned towels,Bed Sheets,Smelling Toilets. Any body can enter the main door on one kick. very old plumbing pipe lines. Itching beds.

The room was OK but bathroom quite old and looks not that clean. Breakfast OK, swimming pool very clean. In general, a basic hotel.

There was a strange noise near the Hotel, entire noight

Ask the staff for anything you need and they will go out of their way to try to accommodate, eg with meals, room needs, sightseeing information, tuk tuk bookings

Helpful staff and management. Immediately responded to our request for a change of room due to a leaking toilet. Very attentive to our requirements.
Breakfasts and the evening meals were very good.
Local cultural sites visible from our room but needed a tuk-tuk to visit.

The eco hotel was a good place to stay as you can enter the ancient city from the back and not buy tickets . Pool was a bit dirty and not any chlorine or salt as far as I could tell but it was still nice . The staff and management especially Sanjay were extremely helpful and always went 10x the extra mile . The Sri Lankan food was great and the lake fish was amazing ! Over all the place was a little run down but the bed was comfy and clean the ac worked and the water was hot . A great option if your not concerned about superficial looks !

hotel with very limited facilities

its an ok placeto crash for a night. prices are a little high for food and drink and its not really near anything but its a good place to set out to explore for one night.

We only stay one night. The bedrooms was small but convenient. Swimming pool was not really clean. Food was great. Wi fi was not working.

Nice welcome juice. Very nice service, excellent location - in the middle of rice fields, silent but still close to the main monuments. Fine and clean swimming pool. Renting good bikes.

The hotel is close to the ancient ruins and the only transport available is by taxi or Tuk Tuk, i.e. scooter carriage.
The hotel has been partly refurbished and overall in need of upgrade in its condition and decor.
The staff are eager to help and oblige. The owner was kind and helpful. Meals are basic and the menu is limited. Positive comment is close proximity to the tourist attractions.

Lovely staff, fantastic location, lovely pool. Breakfast was a little over priced and room could have been a little cleaner.

Loved my stay here, the staff was amazing and so friendly! Great food, everything you need is there. The staff will arrange Anything you want to see or do in the areas.

Enjoyed the stay and will be definitely go again. Very close to all attractions, excellent food. Very helpful staff and really appreciate the attitudes of them
