Great location and the complimentary cheese, wine plus milk and cookies were a lovely addition to our stay
Nothing I didn’t like
Location. Huge construction site below our balcony.
Construction ruins courtyard
Also the wood railings have finish nails sticking up and the need paint.
Those nails tear flesh
Molto bello hotel proprio in centro. Ottimo aperitivo e camera spaziosa. Letto molto comodo.
Costo molto alto.
The bathroom in the room we had (214) was very nice and obviously a fairly new renovation. The condition of the room overall was that of one that is well kept with investment for the long term. Very nice!
The breakfast was not at a level I would expect for a downtown Charleston hotel. We had a better breakfast at the Holiday Inn express in Camden, SC the night before. The pre-made omelet's were a great example of this. Also, a Kuerig in the room is pretty much standard for all hotels in this day and age.
Great location, everything within walking distance. Nice and clean room. Friendly staff. Always a great place to stay when we’re in Charleston.
Great location. Loved the breakfast, happy hour and evening cookies. Beautiful historic property.
Great location in the historic district, walking distance to restaurants.
1) Hotel failed to notify us of the massive construction project and noise opposite the hotel until a day before arrival. Fortunately workers weren't working during our stay, but not warning us at booking was DECEPTIVE. There was a white sound machine in our room so obviously management is aware of the problem.
2) No coffee set up in the room. This is standard even in lower price chain hotels.
3) Bathroom design makes it impossible to turn on and adjust shower without standing inside, risking freezing or scalding. Bathroom floor gets soaked.
4) Bathroom has handicap bar out of reach, and slippery floor.
5) Bathroom doesn't have a single towel bar! Just a few hooks. No place to dry a towel or wash cloth, so you are forced to get new towels every day and waste water/laundry.
Less critical but extremely disappointing: parking is an inconvenient walk from hotel, and overall the hotel exterior and common areas are tired-looking. Staff is hit-or-miss with breakfast staff very friendly and helpful, desk/managers less so.
In summary, a disgracefully overpriced hotel for inadequate and even hazardous facilities.
The Meeting Street Inn exceeded our expectations. We knew the location would be perfect for being able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit. The room was lovely and we were pleasantly surprised it had a small refrigerator and a safe. Housekeeping came every day to freshen the room and replace the towels. Our biggest surprise was how generous the continental breakfast and the daily wine and cheese reception were. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. Even though there is a construction project next door, we plan to stay here again next year.
Great location. Close to everything. Charming hotel. Loved breakfast, happy hour and cookies and milk.
Nice place with friendly helpful staff. Nice welcome cocktail hour at 5 pm. Nice breakfast in the am. Good coffee always. Hotel is old, room was nice.
Wall unit AC - didn’t work great.
Overall- great location- nice place and staff.
Room was great, everyone were very friendly and professional, nice to have free breakfast everyone morning and wine and cheese in the afternoons with cookies at night, inn was close to everything you were looking to visit, will be staying there again.
The Meeting Street Inn was a clean hotel with clean rooms, ample space, a friendly staff, and most importantly, convenient to dining, sightseeing and everything you need to see in the French Quarter of Charleston
Don't stay here. I spent $500 to write this post
I take one vacation a year, and this hotel looked good from the photos. When I arrived to the location, it is about the same quality as a motel 8. Rooms have a cold feel, are very old, with the stale smell of cleaning product
Unfortunately for me, I booked 3 days here in advance, and was only able to get 2 of those days refunded.
I would have gladly stayed for the 3 days I booked, but I was catfished. When I arrived, the hotel was not as advertised.
I ended up staying at another hotel for a little bit more cost, and a 10 X better experience
Etablissement de charme, idéalement situé.
Bien qu'étant bien situé à Charleston, le rapport qualité-prix est moyen, l'établissement étant cher, confortable, de charme mais non luxueux.
