Overall it was not suitable for a 4 star hotel status
Pros:

Breakfast not much of variety but ok reasonable. Location was good

Cons:

Room was not very clean, toiletries was not renewed.

Filthy hotel

The size of room

Cons:

Asked for early check in no communication given I was outside on road from 4am untill 2pm
The room was very dirty not swept proper bidet was moldy. The show pillows on the bed were covered in stains and just very dirty one pillow having some blood stain. A/c was not working. Just a massive no from me on this hotel.
Also the smoking area was closed on the last night due to a function

Wonderful friendly luxurious hotel
Pros:

My husband and I spent 10 days at The Ocean on Bed and Breakfast basis and it was a very pleasurable experience . It is close to all the amenities and all modes of transport be it train bus or tuk tuk. The room was spacious and clean with amazing views of the ocean.The staff extremely helpful and very friendly. Meals were varied and tasty and catered to all tastes. It was value for money and will definitely stay there on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

We were allocated a stunning room (501) on the 5th floor, and the moment we opened the shutters, the panoramic ocean vista left us speechless – truly breathtaking.
From check-in to check-out, your service was impeccable – warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special mention to the restaurant team: the beef burgers ordered for my twin boys were perfectly prepared and arrived promptly; watching them relish every bite (and the hotel’s facilities) was pure joy.
Thank you for creating such a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere. You have earned a loyal family – we will definitely return to spend more precious holidays with you.

Nothing except the VIEW☹️
Pros:

Old broken property, bathrooms corridors smell. Walls, wash basin have cracks. The breakfast was a disaster over crowded in a banquet hall with people banging into each other and with tables.

Pros:

The hotel locatiin , the view from the hotel its amazing. The property have built the rooms for great view and they have succeded well. The staffs are very friendly and adjust as per customer needs which make us feel comfortable and create the trust to stay with them again

Cons:

The property have to work on their breakfast menu to have more international food options. The staff at breakfast was very less to assist the guests which made waiting time more. The property to compete with other hotels in the location need to improve their facilities and provide the breakfast in a restaurant with more bigger space and better sea view.

I would like to thank Mr. Buddhike (Manager) for providing an excellent customer service ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere during my recent stay at The Ocean Colombo hotel.
Mr. Buddhike and entire team including Front Desk, Concierge Doorman, Housekeeping, Restaurant and Maintenance department provided a top notch service with professionalism and care. Kudos to such a great team.

Amazing Hotel with an Exceptional View
Pros:

The view of the hotel was amazing. Polite and helpful staffs. Chatharanga welcomed us and made sure the room was ready when we arrived. Kudos to him for providing an excellent customer service. Will visit The Ocean again when we come back to Colombo. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
