Lovely hotel. So nice to have a chance to appreciate classic architecture and decor. A blessed relief from the corporate concrete and glass cubes. I shall be back.
As always a large room and a bath!! I had views of the Tweed. We had a leaving doo for a collegue. The group enjoyed ovely food in thre bar area
Good nights sleep in a comfy bed x
Was all good
Decor abit dated
Decor
Nice location and elegant.
Lumpy and overly soft bed. Room was likely next to a service area judging by the loud mechanical noises that kept me awake. Lights outside the property illuminate the building nicely but not much use when they are right outside your room and your curtains are thin. Might as well have had a light on in the room. Shower stayed hot for about 30 seconds then only cold water available.
Position fabulous. We wanted a clean, no fuss place with parking and easy access to art fair nearby. It met our criteria perfectly.
A few tweaks needed to finish new bathroom ( grouting, bath fittings, and needs a grab rail)
Grubby room likely a staff accommodation- grubby- noisy- windows rattled- poor quality furnished
Dated and lacked investment
We had a wonderful one-night stay at Ednam House in Kelso with our small dogs and were so glad we chose it. The hotel has beautiful Georgian period features and wonderfully opulent décor, and in the evenings the coal-effect fires in the palatial lounges create such a warm, relaxing atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to sit and unwind, whether you’re dining or enjoying a glass of wine in the bar.
Our dogs were made very welcome, which meant a lot to us. One of our favourite moments was sitting together in the grounds watching the River Tweed flow by while the swans drifted past – such a peaceful setting.
Our room and ensuite were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast offered an excellent choice, and everything about the stay felt great value for money. Being right in the heart of Kelso makes it a perfect base as well.
We were so pleased we stayed and would happily return.
Location
Tired and needing money spent
Great stay as always - we no go room only as breakfast in past has dropped un standard over the past few years, but everything else is great.
All good this time (ie no Breakfast)
Beautiful suite .. huge gas coal effect fire, lovely bathroom warm and comfortable
Restaurant also very good.
Breakfast took a long time to come but was then delicious
Excellent food including breakfast. Staff very friendly. Room and bathroom spotless. Very good value.
Nothing.
Excellent dinner, breakfast, nice comfortable bed, room was warm despite the outside temperature. Great location for Kelso town centre and for the art fair across the bridge.
The food took a while to arrive, both dinner and breakfast, but it was freshly prepared and cooked - not really a complaint, just be aware its not a fast meal service.
Perfect location.Beautiful views over river
The location of the hotel was excellent and the hotel staff and breakfast were first class.
Wonderful open fires and an equally warm welcome.
Everything. They made myself and my dog welcome
