Glad the stay was short.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Whether the fault of booking.com, the hotel or myself, the room I got was not what I expected from the booking.com ad. I suggest more accurate photos for specific rooms are displayed. I am generally extremely careful choosing rooms to treat my wife to a surprise extravagance. Although we were given a different room it was still not what I thought I had booked. The evening meal of roast lamb had vegetables leftover from the Sunday roast. I think microwaved to reheat as the carrots were over-done and you could not even cut with a knife. Dining room staff patronized me by saying g the veg were al dente, but these were al hard as rock! Thin walls, you can hear almost everything through them.

Gorgeous room in the orangery overlooking the river Tweed and the grounds of Ednam House. Our room was very comfortable and had a fridge. There is a comfy bar in the main hotel.

Pros:

The location was great central parking was great

Cons:

The room was smelly I had to ask at reception for housekeeping to spray it the bed was stained we slept on top of the duvet, the windows had mould the bathroom had mould the wardrobe the paint was peeling and ever so dirty the floors were stained, we arrived after a 8 hour trip at 4 pm went to the bar for a wine to be told the bar doesn’t open until five, breakfast was good but as we had our dog with us we were isolated in an upstairs sitting room given a tray and told to go down a flight of stairs for tea and cereal juice and toast and carry the tray back up a steep set of stairs I have photos of said bedroom and shower if you wish to see them,as it was my birthday we thought the write up the place sounded good . Worst £139 for one nights stay we ever spent

Excellent position
Pros:

Excellent position of hotel, my room was very big with an excellent view closse to the reception with only one flight of stairs ,

Cons:

Breakfast was good as usual, I asked to eat in the restaurant as I was dining alone , although there appeared to be room there I was seated in the bar area which I wouldn't have chosen, which spoilt it for me
