Stylish and well sorted for work travel. Easy parking and good coffee. The staff were excellent!
There were elements of my room that were very “rough” which stood out in an otherwise well designed space. Heavy damage and wear and tear, and nasty cigarette bottle on the balcony. See pics.

I stayed at the Neighbourhood Newlands to attend a conference at the University of Cape Town and do sight seeing in some spare time. I wanted a hotel not far from UCT that was comfortable, provided breakfast and had restaurant options nearby for dinner. The hotel more than satisfied my expectations and was good value. The hotel room was comfortable with a modern bathroom. The cafe associated with the hotel, in addition to providing breakfast, was available for other meals during the day and served good espresso coffee. I felt comfortable, and enjoyed, walking around the neighbourhood in my spare time, including to local restaurants, the shopping mall at Cavendish Square, and Newlands Forest in the foothills of Table Mountain.
There is nothing that I did not like. The Neighbourhood Newlands does not have some services and features offered by fancier and more expensive hotels. But this is not a criticism. The hotel was good value and more than satisfactory for a person looking for comfortable and clean accommodation in a safe part of Cape Town with some picturesque surrounds.
The staff is very friendly. Location is central and safe. Property is well kept. Good value.
Noise in roof at night. Was on the 5th floor. Pillows need replacement.
