I booked this hotel for friends and others who were coming to the Blue Mountains for a long weekend of hiking. They absolutely loved it and all said they would be back. They particularly loved the gardens and were impressed by the size of the rooms, having a nice sofa to sit on in the room (rather than just the bed like in many hotel rooms), and having a fireplace in the rooms on a cold winter's evening was very cozy.
Room was great.
Tidy, clean.
Gas fireplace was very nice.
There was an additional Satinjet showerhead in the shower which didn't appear to be working.
Amazing outdoor bathtub
Beautiful grounds
The staff initially seemed short and abrupt but then they got better. Very accommodating though
Location, spacious accommodation, garden setting.
A little dated
Beautiful grounds and very comfortable room
A hot tub would have been great
Comfortable rooms and bed. Good heating.
1. I've never had a breakfast offer that doesn't start until 8am. I was there for work and an 8am breakfast makes no sense.
2. advertising yourself as 5 star sets certain expectations. No restaurant, no other food options, no microwave in rooms to offset lack of food offering, no other facilities nor anything on site.
3. only reason we booked this place is because it's advertised as having a 'fireplace'. That's a lie ... a gas heater with pretend logs is not a fire place.
4. initial interaction with staff less than ideal. Was advised at check in to call if we needed anything, which we did within 30mins due to dirty glassware in room. Called numerous times without success, to later discover (when having to walk back to reception with dirty glasses myself) that there's only 1 staff member on who doesn't answer the phone when other guests arrive
Overall a nice hotel but did not meet expectations and certainly NOT worth over $400/night. Will not return.
Room layout, it was good to have a separate sitting room area.
They charged us $100 for a travel cot for a baby to be added to our room. The exact same cot online was being sold for $99.
Timing for breakfast was very limited, if you had to leave in any way early you’d miss it.
This is our 3 time to stay at Parklands. Each time it has been better. Matilde at reception was absolutely amazing, welcoming, warm, nothing was an issue. She certainly is a great attribute to your hotel.
There was nothing negative to be said!
Everything.
No restaurant for dinner. Biggest and only disappointment.
Beautiful facilities and wonderful staff.
