This hotel has so much potential. We stayed in the 3 bedroom kitchen apartment with a total of 5 people. There is absolutely no AC. They don't even have fans to cool us off. There are no kitchen towels. We only get one towel each for the bathroom- not even a facial towel. The place gets cleaned everyday- the staff is very nice- but it is still so dirty! The water pressure in the shower is awful...the heat only comes out when the pressure is set VERY low. You can take a high pressure cold shower or a low pressure hot shower. The curtains to the rooms and house are all sheer- meaning my neighbors could look into my bathroom and bedroom that my husband and I occupy....how uncomfortable! The bedsheets are very old and worn out. There is a plastic cover on the mattress that is so uncomfortable and gets really hot at night...this place could be okay for 1-2 nights but my 2 week stay was uncomfortable.
The "secure parking" I was promised never materialized, but our vehicle was never bothered on the street. The suite was adequate, but there were some minor issues. The "sofas" were old diner booth seats. One bedroom door was missing the outside door knob. Our friend could not get out of the room, so we had to slide a butter knife under the door so she could remove the hinges. The shower drain was extremely slow, meaning you shower in ankle deep water. Finally, it's right on a busy road, and I needed ear plugs to be able to get to sleep.
For the price, it's actually a good deal for two bedrooms with a fridge and stove. The staff were very friendly, and I almost feel guilty writing this, but many Americans would likely be disappointed.
My girlfriend and I stayed two nights in the Senior Suite in August 2016 in the Hotel Roma and absolutly loved it. The staff was very friendly, all rooms were very clean, the shower has warm water and the beds were great. Thanks a lot for the tipps for trips and the hospitality.
Friendly staff. Aparta-Hotel was really nice and had everything I needed.
this is more an apart hotel, with the rooms with equipped kitchen and laundry area (but no washing machine), which is relatively close to Poas, but also close to the university.
as the hotel is in a ascending heavy trafficated route, it is possible to hear the noise from the cars outside all night round.
after a week of business travel in Costa Rica wanted to take the weekend for visiting. The price fit the place. In the middle of Heredia by the Universidad National crazy traffic area, buses, taxis, "el centro" feet away from it, closed to the airport --even a bus to take you direct to the airport door for $1.20 vs $20.00 cab fare---perfect for commotion. The bus transportation is the most organized ever seen and all stops near by.This Apartments/Hotel are for students residency. Perfect for in-and-out situations and for 4 or more travelers: great space, the best customer service and no problems at all. the physical conditions are "home space like--- this is not a high scale hotel room: there was no AC but open wide windows and fans. no house keeping. its a complete apartment complex with everything: cooking, laundry etc. for the price---its a local bed&breakfast in a local town. I am a stress free person and I make the best of every situation. I would definitely go back "for $38.00/day"
The front desk staff member, Arturo, was absolutely AMAZING! He was so very helpful with understanding the area, getting acclimated to the bus system, and basic information about the area in general. The facilities provided a little less than I had expected, but were clean and comfortable enough to get by. I was disappointed that I had paid for a 2 bedroom apartment, but had to pay $40 extra when I had 2 others stay with me for one night. Thought that was a bit ridiculous since I had already rented out the two bedroom apartment.
