I am writing to file a serious complaint regarding our recent stay in Berlin, booked through your platform.

The apartment was accessed via a code. After leaving the property and returning later that evening, the door system malfunctioned and we were completely locked out of the apartment. There was no physical key available and no immediate solution provided.

We contacted the property’s assistance immediately, but we were informed that someone could come only at 10:00 the following morning. This meant that the five of us were forced to wait for hours in the corridor and outside in freezing conditions, with snow and temperatures around -5°C. We had no access to the apartment, no water, no food, and our phones were running out of battery. This situation caused extreme discomfort, stress, and potential health risks.

No alternative accommodation was proactively offered to us. After more than two hours of waiting in the cold, I had to personally insist on being relocated to another apartment so that we could at least sleep. Even then, we were required to organize and pay for transportation ourselves. We had to pay for Uber both to reach the alternative apartment and to return the next day, entirely at our own expense.

This incident completely ruined our stay. The trip was meant to be a birthday gift for one of our friends celebrating her 30th birthday, and this experience clearly ruined the mood of the group and negatively affected the entire holiday.

Being locked out of an accommodation in freezing winter conditions, with no immediate assistance or suitable alternative provided, is unacceptable and falls far below the standards expected from a property listed on Booking.com.

We kindly request that Booking.com investigates this matter and provides appropriate compensation, including a refund and reimbursement of the additional transportation costs incurred due to the host’s failure to ensure proper access to the property.

Kleine Ungenauigkeit beim Stockwerk: In der Beschreibung steht, der Aufzug gehe bis in den 3. Stock – Zimmer 405 liegt aber im 4. Stock. Keine Tragödie, aber so ein Detail sorgt unnötig für Verwirrung.

Türcode-Eingabe im Dunkeln = Escape Room: Die Codes beginnen mit „*“ und enden mit „#“ (dazwischen vierstellig). An sich okay – nur sind Schloss/Umgebung abends schlecht beleuchtet, sodass man praktisch ein Handy als Taschenlampe braucht. Das ist nicht dramatisch, aber unglücklich gelöst.

Bad etwas zu „kuschelig“ geplant: Das Badezimmer könnte ruhig ca. 50 cm breiter sein – WC und Dusche sind sehr nah beieinander. Für Menschen mit langen Beinen oder großem „Wendekreis“ wird’s sportlich.

Fernseher: zwei Geräte, drei Persönlichkeiten

Der TV im Wohnraum war nicht bedienbar (wirkte wie Batterien leer).
Der TV im Schlafzimmer ließ sich zwar einschalten, aber nicht ausschalten – beim Ausschalten wollte das System eine Kopplung der Fernbedienung, die nicht durchführbar war. Am Ende bleibt nur die Notlösung über Knöpfe/Joystick am Gerät (wenn man rankommt).
Hier wäre ein kurzer Technik-Check zwischen Gästen Gold wert.
Das nächtliche Wummern (Level: Endgegner): Was mich in dem ansonsten ruhigen Gebäude wirklich gestört hat, war ein gleichmäßiges, permanentes Wummern – vermutlich aus Heizung/Klima/Wärmepumpe oder einem Technikraum in der Nähe.
Ich bin gegen 5:00 Uhr wach geworden und konnte nicht mehr einschlafen, weil dieses Geräusch so konstant war. Im Treppenhaus wurde es Richtung unten sogar stärker, was die Technik-Vermutung bestätigt.
Für Leichtschläfer ist das aktuell leider problematisch – außer man schläft mit Ohrstöpseln, was man bei „Deluxe“ eigentlich nicht einplanen möchte.

Parken im Innenhof: nochmal ein Code (und bitte extra bestellen): Die Parkplätze im Innenhof sind praktisch, aber auch hier braucht man einen separaten Code, der nicht der Zimmercode ist und offenbar vorab angefragt/bestellt werden muss.

Our accommodation was in a side wing and did not have a lift, this was not made clear as on the booking it said there was a lift. With lots of luggage and small kids and an elderly relative, it's important this is made clear for each room type. Also the security deposit is very high.

We asked if we could leave our suitcase before check in so we can wander around city but they refused. Also the bathroom and the bedsheets had a smell probably cause of humidity.
