Magical place!
No se puede llegar en carro solo en lancha y no se pudo conocer 0 comentarios del hotel
I appreciate the view of the hotel and the idea of the hotel is very appealing. An isolated hotel that can only be the reached by boat sounds appealing but can be quite lonely actually. There are no nearby shops, restaurants (other than the hotel one), or areas to explore. The highlight of this hotel are the personnel that greeted us and helped us enjoy our stay overall. If you’re not planning on leaving your hotel room then this is a good place for you.
Every one was very friendly and polite
Staff very friendly easy n kind
This hotel is even better in person than the pictures is one of the most beautiful hotels I stayed at. It very peaceful and quiet if your looking for
Something like this I would recommend. The lake is right in front of you. Hotel service is great everyone is very sweet and efficient. Food was really good as well. The hotel is for sale, I really hope
They still use it as a hotel if someone buys because I am ready to go back there. The only thing is that you can’t park your car in the hotel
You have to take a boat that is a easy fun commute. 25 max
We can not express how wonderful out stat was! The service & care we received was the most positive of all. The restaurant view was amazing & the food fantastic! Not a lot of walking area available & you can only get to it by a (short) boat ride. But, the peace & serenity is awesome!
They went the extra mile to help us figure out a transportation problem we had, when we had already paid & had left the property. They vould have easily had just said, "not really our problem".
The staff were so accommodating and helpful. Food was prepared perfectly with lots of variety. Staff assisted us in making plans for travel. Just a lovely stay for myself and my adult children, couldn’t wish for something better.
The staff is very good but the property is not meant for US citizens.
The hotel was very quiet and beautiful, but not what we expected. The toilet wasn't working properly, the showers had no hot water, and the restaurant took over 2 hrs to get us our food, even though we were the only ones there. The manager was very pleasant and we were grateful for that. But overall, we would not stay there again.
EL ACCESO AL HOTEL ES POR LANCHA, DEBIAMOS DEJAR ESTACIONADO EL HOTEL EN EL PUEBLO SAN ANTONIO PERO DEBIDO A LAS FESTIVIDADES DE SAMANA SANTA NO IBAMOS A PODER SALIR DEL HOTEL AL DÍA SIGUIENTE PARA TOMAR EL AVIO DE REGRESO A NUESTRO PAIS, Y EL SR. GERENTE DEL HOTEL"MARIO" NO NOS AYUDO EN LO ABSOLUTO, POR LO QUE PERDIMOS EL DINERO DE LA RESERVACION Y ADEMAS TUVIMOS QUE REGRESAR A GUATEMALA CITY PARA BUSCAR OTRO HOTEL.
PESIMA ATENCION DE PARTE DEL HOTEL VILLA DE LOS DIOSES.
Hotel seems it's several years without maintenance, cleaning is also an issue. The hotel location in the map is not exact, it actually needs to ride a boat from San Antonio Palopo to the hotel; which does not have a 24hrs boat service so you might be unassisted in case of emergency. Breakfast, which is included in the price, is limited and basic. The price charged it's way too much considering the hotel quality and facilities.
Really hard to arrive if you drive because it's far
Although my teenage grandkids had a marvelous time swimming in front of the hotel and kayaking, the hotel was extremely run down, the service questionable and the food lousy. Not much else to say. Nice flowers.
1)There is no road access to this hotel, the only way on or off the property is by boat.
2) This would be fine if there were affordable transportation options available.
3) However, it costs ~$13 USD each way to get to San Antonio, or upwards of ~$50 USD EACH WAY to get to San Pedro or Panajachel. There is a convoluted boat/pickup truck/boat way to get to San Pedro for cheap, but you will be left with very little time in town if you want to get back to the docks by sundown. There is NO public transport to Panajachel. So either get ready to spend liberally, or rethink how charming it will be to be so isolated.
4) Furthermore, the hotel is not really that nice. The shower is kind of dirty, the walls are kind of discolored, the curtains don't cover the windows by even 50%, the bedding is kind of dingy, etc.
5) Also, there was a ~1 hr water outage when we first arrived, and none of the lights worked. I had the sense no one had been in our room for a while before we entered it.
6) The wifi only worked ~60% of the time.
7) We were charged for our breakfasts even though the hotels.com listing said there would be free breakfast.
WE BOOKED this property at the very last minute, just before New Years. If this is the only option you have, I guess it is better than nothing. But even so, I would personally take my chances getting a last minute bed in a hostel in Panajachel than return to the Villa de los Dioses.
You have to take a private boat to reach the hotel, which might not appeal to some, but was the highlight of the trip for our family. Our "room" was actually 2 bedrooms and a private bath. We had a private patio off the master bedroom (the room that only had 1 bed). It was wonderful to sit on the quiet patio and enjoy the lake views in the evening and in the early morning. The hotel has a kitchen and can serve up whatever you're in the mood for. They handled our need for gluten free food (celiac disease) without any issue. The staff was very attentive. They helped arrange transporation to the other lake towns that we wanted to visit. We spent two nights -- it was a great get away.
Arrived by shuttle from the Guatemala City Airport. Last half mile was by boat as the hotel is not accessible by road. Met by very caring and polite staff. Enjoyed 7 nights.
