Breakfast was nice.
The staff messed up our booking and we ended up having to pay double for a room and I spent time on the phone with booking.com to try to sort it out. The staff were unable/unwilling to print a receipt for me and it appeared they were largely uninterested to help us sort it out.
Also, the pool was freezing as the heater was broken.
Staff and location
Elevator and hot tub were out of order. The pool heater was also out of order. No compensation for the inconvenience.

We have stayed at other holiday inn Express that were less nightly cost
We have a child with cerebral palsy. We picked this hotel because there was a Jacuzzi, which would help relax his muscles and the Website advertised a heated pool with a shallow end which would also benefit . The Jacuzzi did not work and the pool was not heated. . Actually, the water was cool. We are 73 years old and asked for accommodations that we would not have to carry our luggage very far. We were put on the second floor in the middle of the hotel far far from the stairway and the elevator was not working.. everything we wanted was not available. .. I asked for a senior discount when I got there and they said they could not do it. I asked for a discount because everything we needed was not available and they refused to do it. I am very unhappy and will probably never stay at a Holiday Inn express again. I will tell everyone I know of our experience to never to stay at a Holiday Inn express . Walking up two flights of stairs with our luggage took four trips . I believe we should get our money back .
Also, the room was not very clean. I was a custodian at KU and I know how to clean. There were crumbs on the floor leading out of the bathroom into the room. The cocktail table had not been cleaned or was cleaned with the dirty rag. With my 30 year history of a custodian I would say they were using the same rag for the entire room. That’s just gross.. Again, the bathtub stopper did not work.
The breakfast was OK, but when you’re serving sausage, you should make sure it’s cooked more than what this was. We did not partake of it because it looked like it would not have been cooked all the way through.l

Most the staff was very nice. Beds were comfortable and room temperature was nice for it was hot outside. Their coffee was amazing, I love coffee.
Pool was open, but the spa was closed. When my husband asked for bedding for the pullout couch he was told by the evening clerk that if any of the bedding came up missing that our card would be charged $500. I didn’t feel like that was necessary, since we had booked 5 people to stay in the room (2 queen beds and a pullout couch) the room should of had bedding in it for the pullout. The bathroom had some small amount of mold and cracks in the wall by the tub/shower.
They didn't read my request for a bathtub. They couldn't get a shower bench for me because the lock on the storage room was broken, they did get me into a disabled room with a bathtub, so that was appreciated. Had to go down to the front desk both days to get towels (no bath towels were in the room when we arrived). Maid didn't come and clean the room on day two. Front desk just said sorry that the laundress was out and the maids were being problematic.
The staff was friendly.
It wasn’t very clean. The pool was gross and the spa did not function. The tv did not work and neither did the phones.
Comfortable convenient location
I was there for an extended stay and would need to work during the day from my room. There was a desk and “chair” but the chair was dangerous.
