Shower was terrible
The balcony for a drink
We didn’t realise when we booked we didn’t get our own bathroom, but we quickly rectified that. The bar was closed when we were there.
This hotel is right opposite the main beach in Victor Harbor although most of the beach was covered with seaweed! Nevertheless it was convenient to both the causeway out to Granite Island and the towns main heritage buildings. It looks directly over the towns main bowling courts . The hotel is an heritage building and as such you have to accept that it is not luxury accomodation. The passage ways floors and corridors creak and the decoration and carpets are well worn. The host was nevertheless was very helpful on check in but we were unfortunately allocated a spa room on the first floor and this made it difficult to get our luggage to our room There is no lift on the premises so be warned. Location was ideal and a in house bar and restaurant was attached to the hotel.
The hotel was too old and well worn for our taste. Access with luggage to the first floor was via a back door and a flight of stairs No lift . At 82 yrs old this was a real task we could have done without
Great location with view across the bay and central for town amenities. Hotel has real character. We had shared bathroom which in effect was a separate bathroom as we had sole use
Furniture and decor tired and need of TLC. Room had a musty smell which was slightly off-putting
Fabulous old hotel and the four poster bed was such a plus the view is amazing. Jacqui and Ray the publicans were warm and welcoming and the cafe served amazing food and some amazing sweet delights.
The louver door to the bathroom area was a bit of a challenge and not very soundproof.

The room had holes in the wall, stains on the carpet, the bathroom had a patch job on the ceiling. Curtain were old and dusty.

Great location, loved the balcony overlooking the water and staff were welcoming.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Older style building with character. Very pleasant stay with good value. Restaurant food was very good with excellent service.
Great location, easy parking and comfortable bed.
Rooms were quite small and dark.
